Does anybody know how much/little teaming there will be ? I've seen some reviews mentioning computer controlled team members, but little about teams.
if your looking for forced grouping then this won't be the game for you. if a person wants, they can solo up to the cap. they will however miss alot of content. things that are designed for groups are: heroic quests, world arcs(long quest chains that for each world), flashpoints(4 man dungeons), operations(8 and 16 man raids), warzones(8v8 instanced pvp matches), open world pvp bases(so far only ones mentioned are on the planet of ilum and doesn't require grouping but the best side will likely do it). they also try to give people an incentive to group for questing by giving them what is called social points for particpating in dialogues as a group. these social points are like a little exp bar that can lvled up multiple tiers and give players access to social, or cosmetic, gear.
how much people will actually team up though is ultimately up to the players though and can't be known until the game launches.
I think it will require just as much teaming as in WoW at release...
Other games that had more teaming requirements at release have all tuned them down in favour of soloing.... Making groups an option for certain content doesnt work either... When people need to wayt for 30 minutes to find a group they'll go solo if there is a solo option for the content.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
>>world arcs(long quest chains that for each world)<<
I bet this one does not actually requiring grouping too. They would be soloable with your npc group members. May be you'll need a group for the last quest in the chain.
