Crowface, mostly, these are the things I am waiting for to resub again, unfortunately, it seems impossible to have them before a year as I consider the last years pace of patching.
We have to understand that the team is small, and check big companies game trailers to have a guess on the team size those companies have. They are releasing trailers that SV cannot think of producing with the resources they have (check this, a small movie even? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znj_r...yer_embedded#!)
It is not necessarily because the lack of talent or professionalism in the dev team, but happens in all software projects lacking number of required workers. Just lower your expectations, have some patience, and if you're very angry, give some break and return back to check the game again.
I underlined the part that I have a hard time understanding. I'm ok with a small dev team trying to make a product and grow it. I just dont understand how people (SV and fanbois) think it is ok to charge a premium sub fee for a low quality product. Even the fanbois can not argue this product is severely flawed,
SV can charge whatever they like if people are informed on what they are actually buying. What we dont need is SV recruiting fans to come here soley to "Put Mortal Online in a favorable light". I think the game would be better off with more honesty and less "viral marketing".

About that small team excuse. So was CCP at first. And they coded their entire game from scratch, nut just modding an existing engine.
Not sure if that's supposed to be an excuse for MO's shortcomings, but let's just say that one indie sandbox success doesn't mean all indie sandboxes will succeed.
Also, times have changed. When EvE released, the MMO scene was quite different: players had other expectations and competition wasn't near as fierce as it is now. WoW had not yet arrived and the genre was still in its infancy.
Today, not many devs get a second chance once they've failed to get their game off the ground.
Most gamers don't want to pay for an inferior product when there are so many quality (as in working and polished) products around - products you can play for considerably less money than MO. The few that are willing to support a game's "vision" and "potential" are so few and far between that their money won't keep development going at an acceptable rate.
And when development is as slow as it is in MO's case, most new players will leave once they see the game's many flaws and realize how long it will be before the game reaches its "full potential".
We are asking this question about a game which has been released for nearly 2 years now.
We are asking this question about a game that charges MORE money than any MMO I am aware of for a monthly sub (about 17/month US last I knew)
-The answer is NEVER.
Until they go back and fix the huge (and growing) list of turned off features, things not implemented or working as intended INSTEAD of constantly adding new complex and "shiny" systems whuich are all hype and will certainly not work properly (nor be fixed since SV will release the broken patch/expansion/content and immediatly start working on their nexr "revolutionary idea" (tindrem, living cities, breeding/genetic system, etc, etc)- It will just get worse.
How does this happen??? Well, I have read countless posts by people on the MOFO who pay for two/three accounts and admit to only logging in for an hour each month- Waiting for a game... They think they are "supporting" the development, but they are "suppoirting" Henricks BMW payment.
-Alls well here Folks, nothing to see, move along- Games great just wait until X is implemented.... I am STILL waiting...
Well there are some in MO that think SV has hired out it's programming to an outside team. Here is an excerpt from a pm I had from a person I was talking to.
"Also you showed me a list with Employes which doesnt have even one Programmer Listed
so actually you proved that they must have Outsourced Programming
Also the Info about a new Team came in at the middle of October
Going by Year that would be the fourth Quartal of the Year
but since you are talking about 2 and 3 I suppose they are Counting different"
We were talking about SV's lack of experience and I linked him the list of employess and that is what he pmed me back.
-We heard the same rumor here. It was supposibly that they hired programers from another game which had just released (cannot remember the game however) from a Swedish game company I think.
But like all the other hype, lies and general bullshit surrounding this "game"- The runors were used to build hype and confidence that things were in the works and the game would improve- Like everything else SV does to lie and hype, this was brushed under the rug and forgotten.

I think asking this company and it's staff to create anything that is release quality is a leap of faith.
He who keeps his cool best wins.

"When will MO be release quality"???????

Is there any truth to this outsourced team?

I don't think the game will ever be release quality.
