Bloody Birthday Bash: MO Arena Event: Sat, 29 October

GM Theia has announced a gladiatorial contest as part of the festivities surrounding a Royal birthday to be held tomorrow:

 

 

A Tindremic Royal Birthday!

In Association with Lucky Bob from the NGF.

Another year has passed in Nave and The Emperor has decided to hold a Birthday Party for his Cousin!

Given the state of the realm, what better way to celebrate than with blood and treasure?

The Emperor will be holding a tournament this coming Saturday at 21:00 GMT.

The winners of the tournament will be showered in their own weight with gold and rubers

and there will also be a special prize to be awarded to the winner!

Teams will be comprised of 10 members

All types/classes are allowed (with following exception):

No pets will be allowed.

Teams will have until Friday this week to register by replying on this thread.

Lucky Bob from the Nave Gladiators Federation will be drawing lots for which teams compete and in which order,

as well as formally declaring the winners / losers.

Teams will be randomly drawn for the first round and then selected through the usual team knockout until the winning team is identified!

Results will be posted on this thread.

Teams will assemble 30 minutes before the start of the event and request a port into The Arena,

where they will be provided with tabards and a leader's flag.

Due to an expected large turn-out, we will be limiting the number of spectator spots to a minimum.

The event will be live-streamed from three vantage points within The Arena -- these details will be posted later in the week.

What makes this a little more interesting is that there will be an SV staff team, led by a special guest.  I can imagine the glint is the eyes of many....

Sounds like a good idea.  I hope the usual does not happen.  The arena is a bad place to get more than 20 people in it.  If that happens it turns into a slide show.  When we were doing the NGF we had to limit to the peopel fighting and not have any spectators because of the fps drop and or failed showing up.  Hopefully this can go off without a hitch.

I wish the game staff would of gotten involved when we first started the NGF we asked them many times and all we got was Maerlyn to show up and commentate once.  I think that is one of the reasons why it failed we needed staff help to run it,  Also the pvp was bad, and half the people would stop subbing so the fights would have to be ad hoc.

I agree, it does look interesting.  Quite a few people are pretty excited about it so far.  PvP's not my main thing, so I'm not on a team.  I'm screwed with work anyway.

I'm glad SV continues to hold activities like this and the Caravan events.  They're enjoyable things for a lot of players.

Getting 30 or 40 people in the same area  is kind of a given for most MMORPGs.. Thus the first M for Massively...

 

I think the fact that this occurs so rarely that it merits mention says a lot about the game and it's events such as this one.

  LOL..Thats a given for most First Person Shooter multiplayer maps.

All these wonderful "events", but never a good video.  I'd really love to see a FRAPs with frames per second and 30+ people.

Well they decided to prevent spectators from joining because having more than 20 people in the same area would cause problems, so the only way to see what's happening is to watch a stream...

 Lame they are excluding the other teams from spectating.  What kind of Event is limited to 20 people at a time, when 2 x that signed up? Alas...there's only like 40 people even viewing the "Live" streams anyway.

Can't you be happy for them? that was a coool event - I watched it on three livestreams at the same time and one fight lasted 15 mins!!!!   I was happy to stay in Fabrnum and watch the stream... peronally...

I tell you what - I challenge guys - I'm going to record a 30 min single stream without edits recording of in-game.

It;ll be boring as shit and have zero edits compared to BOFIS - but you will see that (for me) the game is smooth and beautfi

I'm knacked and off to bed - but I'll faps and upload tomorow then you can point you which frames glitched out on my client.

When you realise that for me the game plays 'as smooth as glass' and If there are no takers then you can shove it up .... a gear and try to take a fresh look at an exciting if evolving and yes sometimes demanding new vision - that or piss back off to themepark-clone land. Fface it, this is real and different and try to get over it too, you'll feel better in the end.

 

There is something visceral and unique about the world of Nave - I know you feel it in your guts - try to get your balls to keep up.

I'd surely hope the game would be smooth while you go about your daily grind, it has been out for 1.5 years and the server is at a fraction of its reported capacity.

I think people were refering to performance in group settings.   Theres a reason the "event' only allowed a few teams in the arena at one time and they didnt allow spectators.

That I can fully agree with. I can't recall flying pigs or exploding horses in other mmos.

Its good to see that atleast Something is happening in this game. Im not gonna hate on the number of participants or restrictions imposed on player counts since such an event is true to the nature of a PVP Deathmatch that is MO.

 

So ya`ll who participated must have had a ton of fun in this "Tindremic" Royal Birthday event which should have happened in Tindrem, the Royal Capitol.
