The Rush is On: Politics and Assets in MO Pre-TC

RohnRohn Member UncommonPosts: 3,730

Aphilas recently posted a thread on the official forum laying claim to some in-game assets, and promising retribution for any that attack them.

FEAR/RAGE/Mor/BH politics on asset destruction

This engendered a whole lot of the usual back and forth posturing.

I believe PrinceReaper made a pretty astute observation in that thread with his comments on the change in priorities some guilds are currently displaying as it regards assets, most specifically keeps:

Wonder how many keeps will remain standing once the patch finally hits. I also disagree that only military might keeps assets safe, Talar Matar controlled a keep+several houses for some months while having an effective standing army of 1(not counting students or friendly guilds that offered assistance should we be attacked)

Forsaken, while not weak in military, are in part also kept safe by their reputation and neutrality.

Lastly, there is RUS, their keep is kept safe by being impossible to siege due to its location. And possible the fact that RUS are some of the worst enemies you can have.

It all changed now due to TC. Most people didn't care about keeps before news of TC, but now every guild major and small wants one. There is going to be alot more commotion leading up to the patch, that's for sure.

I think he's got a good point.  Given the plans for the territorial control system, keeps are going to become much more useful, and valuable, than they have been before.  There definitely seems to be some pre-TC jockeying for position right now, which is likely to escalate the closer we get to the patch.

I bet there will be "a lot more commotion AFTER the patch" when new bugs abound, old ones return, new exploits are discovered and used, "features" are turned off and we get SV brand quality once again (i.e. doesnt work, not tested, causes more problems than it fixes , etc.)

But I am sure the spambots will not focus on the issues, instead we will get posts like "people having fun in MO" or "King Lazuruz needs his prostitutes escorted to Tindr- er... Not there because its not finished lolz" or "The Prince needs a pair of socks delivered for his birthday party"

The ol bait and switch... Yes, TC is going to be interesting. Cannot wait since I need a good laugh. And then you guys at SV (Black Opal and such) will begin trying to redirect the conversation to the new shiny coming soon (tm)

That's how it been since the beginning. I suspect another planned "feature" video in MOs future, which will never come to fruition. Isnt SV going to pump out whatever parts of TC they can get working quickly?
