Warrior Issues addressed by a Dev

Hey guys, not sure how many of you have read this but a dev on the official forums just went through all the stuff being said about the warrior class and told what the thinking was and what (if anything) is going to be done. Its an impressive post (3 of them actually) so give it a read when you have an extra 20 minutes.

yeah, i read that a day or two ago, it was really funny, i had to give those guys a hand for the uniqueness of their protest. i didn't agree with the account suspensions but at least it was only 3 hours and not a couple days.

They asked 3 times before they suspended the account.

oh, i didn't mean to sound like i don't understand why they suspended the accounts. i understand their reasons perfectly and i think it was an appropriate punishment for the actions. i just said i didn't agree because the warriors were simply trying to get an official acknowledgement of what they felt was their plight... with that being said they should have dispersed after being asked a couple times. i kinda thought a warning email saying if it happens again would have been appropriate but blizzard felt the action was more severe than that so they suspended them. oh well, now we all know what happens when you crash a server

Yeah - I think that is more than appropriate - halting the game play of others is MAJOR griefing! image

I don't know the full story - I'm not sure if the intent was to crash the server. I personally don't have a problem with tons of chars being in one spot. Its an MMORPG after all. As much as I hate the lag around the mailbox - I like seeing all the characters at the AH and bank, etc.

On a different note, my game play lags during minor skirmishes (40 person raid). Is that a server side or client side problem? Either way, I'd hate to see what the battlegrounds would look like.

It's nice that they are looking into Warriors and have fixes planned but he didn't answer the one and only question that matters- when. They could fix every problem related to Warriors in any way but it really won't help Warriors if they don't implement the fixes soon.

Protests force action on the companies part. It does disrupt the normal play of others but sometimes it is necessary. It's been 2 months now and some essential Warrior abilities are either not working as intended or not working at all.

Raids do crash servers because the server can't handle so much activity centered in one location. Battlegrounds will have it's own server and have a limited number of players to reduce lag, increase server stability and ensure that Battlegrounds does not affect others.

well he didn't say when all the fixes would be implemented but he did say that they are working on them now.  He said a couple were coming in this patch thats about to be released and it sounded like the others would come in the next patch after that... now granted thats not a definite by any stretch of the imagination but i do think they are working hard to get those fixes in so people have less trouble.

i did think that his point about play style being a large part of the whining.  it seems to me like people want to play the warrior different ways but aren't really figuring out a build that allows them to play like they want.  it seems to me like a lot of people are just slapping gear and talents in without really planning out the character because i think the warrior isn't as screwed up as a lot of people are claiming.  the devs arguments did seem to indicate that you can play the warrior as you want (within reason) but somethings are just not meant to be.  i was glad to see him acknowledge the shortcomings of the class as is and what is being done but he also said get over it (to a degree) and figure out how to play the class better.

i do think the protest did force blizzards hand on the warrior fixes but for the most part i think they were already addressing the issue.  they just tend to be very tight-lipped about exactly what they are doing so people assumed that they were doing nothing.  i think blizzard is more on top of things than we give them credit for, as far as class and talent issues (they did get caught with their pants down with the server issues though).
