Since you provided only limited quote, I assumed it was in context of 'golden parachutes' mentioned in post you replied to thus I thought you talked about compensation as payoff for leaving the company.
I would need to look up for details how it works in the US but my point still holds for many countries as it is logical. But yeah, people are generally stupid so it is possible...
Actually the UK and France have just as strict or stricter policies when it comes to their public co. It is all about transparency and accountability, which are good things.
I recomend you start with the SEC website. Explains the rules for the US...

I think our misunderstanding comes from me thinking the EU was under the same system of laws as the USA and the UK- I know little about the Sweden stock market but knowing the CEO's can "hide their pay" legally would make me never invest there...I honestly thought this common sense law was worldwide.
I know exactly what the CEO of my company makes (its sick) but we turn a good profit yearly and our employess make a decent living...
No, I do not have stock in SV. The only stock I have is in Ford (I have very little) as I bought my entire life savings in Ford stock when it hit $5.00/share- I then flipped it about a year later and even after fees and such I made out rather nicely. My 401K is also stock based (essentially Mutual Fund based) and I have pretty much lost my ass on it.
It is all about tranparancy and accountability, which are good things.
No, it is not.
It is a non-factor for business and shareholders as what matter is factored in overall economy of the company, not individual wages.
It is just for envy, stupid people and sheer populism.
Your opnion, one I do not share. Regardless, conversation over as you seem to have some overt hostility for some reason. All I was doing was providing correction to the OP comment and to inform him about how things are done in Europe and not commenting about SV and its practices.

So you think that a Public company should be able to hide what the CEO makes? Even when its losing its ass?
You seem to have an agenda here, as we just want a little transparancy and you seem to think we should just take a Public companys "word" about how they are doing.
Not at all impossible, every person in sweden who pays tax is registered in our "taxeringskalender".
Or Taxation calendar, for a crude translation.
As said, ratsit.se among others have that info online, for a price.
Taxeringskalendern however is only published in paperback, one for each county in sweden.
Any library in said county have a copy of at least their own calendar.
Just having the name "Henrick Nyström" as info though may not be all that much to go on, county and approximate age will really help.
Published in that is your TAXED income, meaning the sum of money you have had as a base for how much tax you pay.
That sum is after any deduction you have made and may not be all that indicative of how much you have actually earned.
I dont really care what he makes, dont even know who he is, so I wont bother, but if you want the info, it is there.

Thanks. I appreciate it, I however am not concered enough to "pay" for information which would by law be availible for free in my country.
As a general rule, I really dont care what a CEO makes either- It sickens me when I hear some of the very extreme instances but otherwise...
My reason for wanting this information is that SV still hasnt fulfilled their promise to send the game disks to people who have bought and paid for them over 2 years ago (claiming they dont have "time") then laying off most of its staff, crying about needing resourses (which is why bug fixes are not happening and content is being released at a snails pace) having a small team (when they made it smaller with lay offs) continuing to lie, hype and promise the World but constantly delivering half finished, bug ridden shit along with waaaay too much shadyness to even take the time to write.
When a CEO (the skipper, leader, descision maker- Whatever you want to call him) is using the public market to gain investors and the stock has pummeted to less than the Unreal Liscense they hold- There is a very real problem with leadership and any honest company would have removed the CEO and tried to restore confidence- This has nt happened.
So all the while, SV is claiming "small team", "low resourses"- We have no clue how much is going directly into Henriks pocket for al his hard "work"- We know he will not work weekends even as he is pillaging investors money into nothing.
I was curious why I couldnt find this info- It was answered... Swedon does not have to divulge it.
So, SV fans should be aware that the "small team" excuse and layoffs MAY be so Henrik can continue to live an extravagent lifestyle and not really because of lack of funds....
For instance, how much would it cost to hire a PART TIME worker to burn the CD's (which people already payed for) and send them out??? You would think the CEO would keep his promise at any cost, even if it came from his own pocket or personally burn those disks during one of his weekends off- Instead, we are told they dont have the time/money to keep their agreement.
-Just trying to provoke some thought here as to why these excuses do not fly when there is NO TRANSPARANCY.
All in swedish, divide any sum with about 6 to get an approx in dollars, tkr means thousand swedish crowns.
Also a lot of other info there if you want to babelfish it..
That is for 2010, 2011 will be available around march 2012.
Board combined salary was 600k swedish, or about 100k dollars, there are 5 board members. ( as in 100k divided by 5, not 100k each )
I assume they have other jobs within the company as well for which they get paid.
To be honest, no one at that company seems to be all that well paid, not even the board.
Considering total wages and the amount of people they have.

-I saw this as well, but without info for "bonus's" and other compensation, this means nothing. The CEO at Hewlitt Packer make $1/year but after bonus and such that ends up in the Millions.
We are comparing Apples to Oranges since what you listed is only one small part of an overall compensation package. I am more concerned with overall wages and compensation.
Very good information though and I appreciate that you took the time to post this. I am not disagreeing with anything you say as well, I was just hoping for a full picture.

Common sense?
If the company is showing good balance, it is worthy of investment. If the company is showing loss or poor balance, it is not worth putting the money in.
Transparency on exec or any individual wages is meaningless in business terms and in both cases individual wages are non-factor. They are irrelevant performance attribute of the company. So the question is, who actually cares and why?
Yes, I do think that listed company should not disclose any of the wages.
CEO is no different from a any other worker. They both can get a wage higher than their value of work is. With the same logic, you should be asking wage information about any employee of any listed company.
That would be not only spurious but also heavy intrusion into privacy.
Do not apply 2 measures, ask for viewing all wages or none should be disclosed.

Okay, so its fine (in your eyes) for a company you have invested money in to "claim" they lost all your money but not show you what they are payinng the person who makes the descisions?
So its okay for a company to take your money (and others) as an investment and pay the CEO 99% of everything , never tell anyone and claim your money is gone.
Does not compute.
A CEO is a PUBLIC FIGURE- IF they wanted privacy in their earning they should have kept it a private company. It was THEIR choice to go public, it was their choice to sell stock.
This isnt about the "owner" or a private company- This is about the CEO of a public company that is build on other peoples money.
im sure that sort of information can be asked for by the investors if they want to know. However henrik comes from a very rich family what possible reason would he have of giving himself huge bonuses at the cost of his company. Its just ilogical.
No form of court case that i am aware of has ever been thrown at henrik over his company etc so i fail to understand how as you people like to say "illegal activities" are not being braught to justice in any way at all. Could it be he is well within the law to do what he is doing? or would that ruin the twisted manipulation of him you hold in your heads?
I dont think he is a good CEO, i dont think SV are doing particularly well as a company either, but i dont think they are fleecing money from unknowning subscribers either. They offered an open beta and free trials for players to try before they buy the game. Those who were accidentally double billed were refunded, some recieved emails others were told to send an email if they were double billed. Poor managment and an error of a rather ametuerish indie company as oppossed to the devises of a criminal mastermind more likely, well it is to me but i guess some of you would rather consider him a comic book villan.

How is this going to help me anyhow? What for?
Your second example is called fraud.
Money is gone in both cases and whether you published the wages or not has no bearing on result nor steps that will follow.
So I ask, are you able to address points in my post or you do not bother with any constructive reply?

Death, hows it going buddy.
The problem is- Nobody seems to know.
As to why a Rich person would pay themselves more and more even at the expense of the investors- Thats what Rich folks do buddy. I can show you a million instances.
The CEO from Enron was rich as well and risked it all (along with Prison) to get even richer. Its the way of the world.

Your points have been addresed.
You are trolling now... And it wouldnt be fraud if the board voted 99% of the money to go to the CEO. It would be legal, which is why this conversation is important concerning transparancy.

well if that was the case then wouldnt it be sensible to not kill off your company by giving yourself huge bonuses also?

Maybe that is what is happening. We dont know- That is the point.
If the board votes on a CEO's pay and then lies- This is fraud. BUT the board can vote any amount (even more than the company has) and even take loans to pay the CEO.
My point here, Death- Is that we have no clue. Henrik may make a "modest" income OR he may be making an insane amount of money and yet claim "poverty" for the company (small team, layoffs, no disks, etc. etc.) legally - Since his PAY is not part of the money used to develop MO.
So if they are crying povety and using the same excuses- It would be nice to know the truth of where their finances are going...Thats all I am saying.
Everything at this point is speculation since that info is secret.

Well, he cant make more then what is listed under salaries, that is about 4M swedish, or about 800k dollars or.
Combined between 17 employees.
The company went negative for 2010, so no profits from shares.
Unless someone else, from outside the company, pays him money, I really dont see how he can make more then 100k a year, and I really really doubt that, closer to 50.
All bonuses and whatnot combined.
The net income of the company was 5M, again, 17 employees, among them 4 other board members.
Unless he can somehow magically conjure money, to give to himself, I dont really see how he can make all that much.
And if he can, then what the hell is he doing running a small gaming company in sweden?
Net worth of the company was 13M, of which he actually owns 58%, 58% of the votes that is, probably not 58% of its worth.
Almost none of that is "real" money though.
And bonuses are combined under salaries, just dont say how much of that sum is actually one or the other.
So, salaries and bonuses, about 4M, and they still have to pay whoever else works there.
No options, he allready owns the entire company, however it is not impossible, probable more like it, that he himself is giving his employees options on his stock.
I get that you really want him to be rolling in dirty money, I just do not think that is the case..

And I never said they turned any profit, I said the opposite.

Perhaps he wants to act like an Adult and pay his own way? I know its a stretch....
Many of us do it all the time.

Unless he doesnt have long-term faith in Starvault and is grabbing what he can. Im sure Henrik knows where SV/MO are heading, been loosing money since release.

maybe he murdered 2 hookers in a swimming pool and buried them under his porch, truth is its speculation since that info is secret. But i wouldnt start a thread on it

I think it's over 9000. (Sorry.)

Where are you getting these numbers? SV doesnt have 17 employees and has been in the RED every quarter since release.

They did in 2010, as per the link I posted above. (
And I never said they turned any profit, I said the opposite.
As for 2008 and 2009, I have no clue, dont really care.
