The package includes a Feat of Strength and when the package is 'opened', it shoots off fireworks, grants players a temporary (and celebratory) tabard and a +7% XP and reputation gain for a limited time.
Hmmm, i got a feat of strength for logging in for the 7th anniversary on that character. In the mail was a token that awarded 7% xp and reputation gains for 1 hour (completely pointless as i have 7 characters all of which are at max level and most repyutations are at exalted status baring raid ones which are virtually impossible to do as nobody tends to do old raids, especially on a server that is extreamly lacking in your faction). There was no tabard among this anywhere.
The idle threats of 'new games on the horizon' is surely tiring for you guys. No game surfacing within the next year or two will be anything revolutionary. Deveopers- better yet, investors, are not willing to pull away from the tried and true theme parks we have today.
Make a Skyrim style mmorpg with elements that satisfy both the pve and pvp crowds. Then and ONLY then can WoW's subscription numbers give way.
What is more amusing is that we dont know what Blizzard's Titan project is. Maybe It is something to satisfy us. Maybe threats of 2014's mmorpg leaks will be the WoW killer.
Might as well make friends with square one. You will all be back at it sooner or later.

LOL!
I doubt it. Not because SW:ToR isn't an awesome game, but because people who are burnt out on WoW will be burnt out, period. They may not take to SW:ToR no matter how cool it is. I think SW will do more to bring more new players into the mmorpg market than it will to take away from WoW's players.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Dont think any game will destroy wow just time will since no new mmo will get these number of subs that fast since wow just came at the right time . I do feel if theirs one coming mmo that can dent wow alot it will be swtor .
See this is where blizzard spend their money, in marketing and advertising and very little on the game..i find all blizzards games to be all hype and little substance. I'm sure the tv commercial will fool a few into resubscribing though.
WOW will still come out on Top of most of these games in 2012. Only real threat is TERA, GW2 and maybe some other NON generic Theme park games. But even all those combined might not reach WOW's number.
GW2 is no threat to WoW because its buy to play then free forever... so you can play GW2 and stay subbed to WoW, and Tera is just no match.... it only excels on graphics and appeals to people who likes breaking mouses when taking on mobs.....

sad but true, i think that would happen to any subscription based mmo company holding the mmo crown..... i wish blizz uses more money for the game and less for advertising... the game is already 7 years old and still the king so... everyone will get to know WoW one way or another lol....

I guess in musical terms then you could liken WoW to Elvis who was also the King .
Untill the Beatles came along and took his crown .

No new game will ever appear to be that revolutionary . Think about it the first person shooter genre developed from the likes of Castle Wolfenstien and Doom and evolved but the basic mechanics are the same . An elder scrolls mmo would and probably will be similar to other mmos . Its a big difference creating a single player experiance and a massive multiplayer one . StarWars TOR has enough new elements to make it new and interesting to many players . As for it toppling WoW that remains to be seen . TOR is a very playable and addictive game and its creating a buzz thats not been seen in 7 years . Theres a reason for that . I would be the first to applaud and praise Blizzard if Titan is something new and innovative but this is a company thats seems to be losing its Mojo. Funnily enough I got welcome back offer from WoW today and played it for a couple of hours but all it did was remind me why I left . As for TOR I think your in for a big shock in 2012 . I suggest give it a try and within 2 hours you wont want to play WoW again .
7 years, I believe we have truly seen enough of this game, I dun even have the urge to explore the revamp old world, got my druid to lvl 17 and quit. most likely for good this time .
unless they truly innovate, if not I dun think most players who left will come back

Neither was WoW, but it did all right.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

The people crying for a "revolutionary" MMO are the ones who end up playing a half-baked sandbox with, at most, a couple thousand subscribers. TOR is doing what WoW is - taking the standard formula and improving it - and they will get so many new fans, Star Wars fans who've never touched an MMO before or just regular gamers drawn in by the hype, that they care very little about what the minority thinks of their game.

I played off and on for 6 years myself and to me Cata destroyed what joy I could get from rolling alts. One play through of the "new Azeroth" was all I could take. For me at least, Cata took away the "big world" feeling of the lower levels and it seems even more of a train ride than wrath does. The term "hand holding" is one I hate to use as its been used to death but its how the game feels. More and more since BC.
Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.
