It may be nothing special to you, but for me and my guild it's the game to wait for and even playing it in it's current Alpha state has not dissapointed.
Is your guild playing GW1?
The only reason I could see anyone taking GW2 over TOR is because of the combat and DE everything else is just Ok.
i mean.. static boss that requires 10 mins to be killed its just sad.. so.. démodé. really surprised devs still go for this stuff as a cheap way to create pseudo-content.
colisions shown are crap too.. maybe because its beta.. who knows.. and the lightsaber sounds gets really annoying.. and im not joking.
really hope the rest of the game is better than this crap.. im sure it is.

Bashing another game wont make "your" game look any better.
Thanks for the vid I am looking forward to the game. I like traditional MMORPGs this looks like one . I am not sick of the genre yet and do enjoy themeparks.
Also, what makes you think that this one, single video is representative of the way that the game will be at launch? Personally I have no interest in playing a Jedi/Sith... imperial agent and smuggler look like the most interesting classes to me.

Oh lol, didn't realise you were arguing a Tor vs GW2 point of view. Guess I should have guessed.
I could list many reasons why someone would pick one over the other but it's completely off topic and irrelevant because GW2 does not need defending.
It's impossible for something to suit everyones needs. ToR will be perfect for those who want a game similar to WoW with an updated graphics engine, and GW2 will be perfect for those who want new mechanics and an evolution of the genre done right. Sandbox players are kinda screwed though.
So yeah, lets just leave it at that.
Wow you're not bias at all Lol. Both of you are trolling fanbois its funny really.

And while I look at what it was you all where talking about, telling people this game sucks and more or less going "This game sucks I am going to play the revoliution that is GW2." in a TOR forum doesn't really scare anyone away from this game.
I am not saying people can't come into a game forum and say their game is better but if you don't expect some retailiatoin then you sir are an idiot.

Is there also something wrong in saying that ToR is similar to WoW with a better engine? As far as I can tell that is pretty truthful.
Ever play COH or GW1?
Play the former over the latter and I'll punch (Not really) you if you come back and tell me that TOR plays like WoW. TOR has no auto attack and I like you thought this made no differance, well it actually does and quite a bit if I must add.
As far as Im concirned if TOR is similar to WoW then so is GW1. Combat wise at least.

We don't know the circumstances surrounding the group, maybe they all just wanted force users in their group and didn't want many other classes eh? On top of that they could just be shitty players.
And I think it's known that almost everyone will want to play a force user.
Ohh man that looked fun. I love world bosses! they are the best part of PvE!
I hope both SWTOR and GW2 will have a ton of them at end game!
I think you and I saw a different vid.
That was definitely not one of the best ToR vids I've seen. Hopefully they'll sort out the clipping issues on those bosses. The second one looked terrible, like he was having trouble not falling through the earth.
I don't get this mentality. Why does this matter? Skyrim at 2460x1440 maxed out destroys everything I have ever seen. I don't care about the graphics.
When I am going to play this Im going to be blasting my music sippin coffee, and if anything just laughing at the over the top nature of a big dinosaur doing a osterige-into-the-ground! these things have no barring on fun.
this is to be expected. this is also in gw2, its in aion, its in AOC, unrealistic turnings, problems with all AI, and general stupidity.
immersion breaking is a flag you can wave in anyones faces but the only one who is going to lose is you. the people who can take the p**s out of it, are those that will win, and I intend to be WINNING!:)
So get rofling over this. the combat looked really slick, I love the blur and lightsaber swoosh, and the whole scene reminded me of classic jedi knight outcast multiplayer.
I expect there to be a crazy influx of jedi, but like death knight it will eventually not be what the cool guys do.
In beta, the coolest thing to be is trooper and Imperial agent. they have some of the coolest stories, about being normal men doing the impossible, why the sith and jedi are down this narrow path, and glow sticks representing half the classes. these other classes can go much more crazy in story, and even if jedi will be 80% of the population, there will be great things for those that want to play the others.
Sorry, but after watching that I am very happy to be looking forward to GW2.
Seems like it's the same ol' same ol' from the "other" MMO I used to play.
It does look fluid thou.
You won't see any better in GW2 matter of fact you will see worse. Why? Well because in GW2 there is no reason to organize a group iwth a plan and there is no time to organize because Events just happen, you can't predict them.So it will be tons of people in some fake auto group doing the same thing >>spamming dps.
As for good AI and good maps,i havn't seen any yet, doesn't mean either or both gw2 and SWTOR won't have it,i just have no indication to believe otherwise.I already know GW2's stance on AI and it wil lbe a mixed bag of VERY predictable AI,example auto attk furthest member or auto attk medium armour,i don't like that shallow design either. In SWTOR what i see is bosses seem to just already be there or ready to spawn, this is not much different than GW2 phasing in.I don't like FAKE phasing in or sudden spawns,i like a scene to look realistic as i enter.
I wil luse this video once again to show how an Epic scene and boss figth SHOULD look. There is a resistance fight going on,there is a great large map with cover, lots of action going on,it gives the FULL immersive feeling.
Give me this kind of effort SWTOR and i'm in i guarantee it,i'll pay 50 bucks a month. There is reason i have supported the Unreal series/Quake/Half LIfe/ those games all showed me the effort it takes to make a great game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
The simple fact is, people who want WoW in space will love it, people who don't want that will hate it, and niether side is wrong for what they want.
Both sides have good valid points, and both sides have haters/fanboys spouting nonsense.
This is WoW 2.0, if you deny that then you are in some serious denial. But liking WoW 2.0 is ok. We all like different things. You don't have to pretend it's something it's not so the community will agree with you. You don't need their approval. You need your approval. If you like it, then more power to you. If you don't like it, I encourage you to speak with your wallets, as that is the only way to get the industry to change.
Haters, be angry SWTOR isn't what you want it to be, but don't hate on the people that do like it for what it is.
Fanboys, stop hating on people who have valid concerns for the game, such as simplicity and longevity (only a few token examples). The concerns are valid, and discussion is necessary so the community can understand exactly what this game is.
It all comes down to discussing it so you know if you want to spend 60 bucks or not. The devs paint the best picture possible, you have to dicuss this with community to get the real feel for what it is. Is it for you? Only you can make that choice.
Oh don't get me wrong, seeing something like this (assuming it's a freak occurance) would be funny.
If however this becomes the norm, it would be incredibly jarring and become tedious.
The vid showed two boss fights, and both had clipping issues. So I merely hope that the devs fix this (assuming it hasn't already).
It would be cool, but I think those things might happen after launch but who knows? The first 6 months will probably be adding a lot of fixes and stabillity patches.
When you say "Only 3 were not Jedi," do you mean "only 3 were not force users?" It's an imperial raid on Dromund Kaas, so I wouldn't expect Jedi to be a part of it at all. Also, even if the entire raid were composed of Sith Warriors and Inquisitors, all the bases for the trinity would still be covered: DPS (both melee and ranged), tanks, and healers. So I guess I don't see the problem, other than having too many lightsabers swinging around at once.
And on the server I was on, I saw a great deal of balance in all the classes.
On 4 Servers I was the same thing
As far as this "issue" goes thats what I have heard the most from beta testers who bother mentioning it. Almost all of them say the variety of classes running around are all over the map instead of it just being 100% lightsabers 100% of the time like people expect.
Sorry, but after watching that I am very happy to be looking forward to GW2.
Seems like it's the same ol' same ol' from the "other" MMO I used to play.

You're going to be dissapointed my friend.
Dissapointed in missing out on SWToR? Or dissapointed in in GW2? which isnt even out yet and isnt even in beta? I assure you from what I played at Pax, GW2 is the shiznit and what little bit we played was enough to convince me that GW2 is going to be mega huge-now if ANet would only market it like Bioware has ToR.

Not seeing a problem there. I even like all those meat-shields at those bosses. They'll keep the monster away from me as healer ;-)
