we always talk about the horrors of Themepark MMO.
but something about Themepark MMO, really standout as a awesome experience.
Sometimes this comes as a Quest given from a NPC.
Whats your "Best Quest Ever"?
Anybody remember in "Im Gonna Punch That Dragon in Da Face"
for a little humor here in there.
But more serious quest chains, like Wrathgate/Battle for Undercity
were epic!
Well how about you share some of your favorite quest

Definately "KILLLLLROOOYYY STOOONNNEEESKIIINNN"
Anyone who's played the game I'm referring to will understand. Forsaking your standard weaponary and donning knickle dusters, you run around with a drawf of questionable sanity and beat up armoured warriors Rocky Style. Fantastic quests. If you ran out of health, no problem - start button mashing and you'd get up for another round of mayhem.
From MMOs probably the most memorable would have to be from WoW. In outland you got a quest to walk a felhunter until it poops out the key that it ate...I always though that quest was hilarious.
For any quest, I'd have to say Skyrim's Dragonslayer quest or the Defense of Whiterun. If you do defense of whiterun on hardest difficulty, it's like an all out war with like 100 guys charging the gates
My favorite quest was when i had to kill three wolfs that were just standing there.... I one shotted them all....
my fav quest was when i got to help a jedi escape so he couls spread lies to the republic for imperial intelligance. Second fav was getting to shock a guy to find out who killed a fellow sith apprentice. Then shocking him again just for fun.
Find Mankrik's wife (wow) but seriously most of the long quest chains in wow where very enjoyable, wrath of the lich king had some very nice ones

EVE L4 The Damsel in Distress
It has come to my attention that one of our employee's daughters has gone missing. She was last spotted in a disreputable nightclub in (System), and we're afraid she's been forced into slave labor, or even prostitution. We request that you find her immediately and bring her safe and sound back to her family. I will give you the coordinates of this nightclub, I believe it is inside a pleasure complex, and I expect you to take care of the rest. Good luck.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?
Explorer: 87%, Killer: 67%, Achiever: 27%, Socializer: 20%
The one where I had to kill 10 Wild Boars.
Aw man ! My best quest ever was from Final Fantasy XI !
I had to perform a storyline quest where I had to team up with 2 non-english speaking players to defeat a monster within a cavern labyrinth.
So i was playing a Red Mage, and the rest were my support team consisting of a White Mage and a Black Mage.
We succeeded in killing the beast, and the challenge of using the in built preset universal words for the first time to communicate (which can be understood regardless of what language version of FFXI you had installed) just made the experience sweeter.

Hey hey hey heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyy.......
Quest for my epic Beastlord Claws in EQ. Took a LONG time, but was a true adventure all the same and a lot of fun. What makes it the best is finally completing it and that feeling of accomplishment I got from it.
You know, that thing they hand out a dime a dozen in today's MMO's making it trivial.
There was this one quest in AC2 where you had to jump platform to platform. I freakin' hated that one, I couldn't jump worth a darn. I just can't even begin to recall how many times I fell to my death doing that blasted thing. Finally did complete it one day, never went back to it again! Not my favorite, but certainly one that I remember!
Not really the best but funniest is in WoW I can't remember that well since it was ages ago but an orc stole a dwarf pants and couldn't go back to his village because he was too ashamed and so we had to find this dwarves pants and kill an npc with a name I can't remember I think pants stealer or something. It was really funny.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
So I guess it is safe to say you don't enjoy the Tomb Raider series either. ;P
Chains of Promathia (Epic Main Quest Line with about a hundred quests and a dozen new areas)
DISTANT WORLDS
Seas invite in the evening sun
To light the somber abyss
Clouds dance up with the heavens' stars
Chanting an air of joyous bliss
Water fades back from blue to jade
Guiding young rainbows high
Flowers bloom into red and whites
Quenching our hearts when they run dry
Angels chained by a beast locked in slumber
Sin washed away by the swift flow of time
I may know the answers
Journeys over snow and sand
What twist in fate has brought us
To tread upon this land?
Blessed by light and the burden of shadow
Souls abide to an endless desire
I may know the answers
Though one question I still hear
What twist in fate has brought us
To roads that run so near?
Distant worlds together
Miracles from realms beyond
The lifelight burns inside me
To sing to you this song
To sing with you this song
To sing to you your song
Guild Wars, Eye of the North mission "A Time for Heroes" I died so many times and I literally leaped out of my chair when I finally completed it.
2 quests actually...
Most funny quest ever is the 'Gold Seller' guest-line in Age of Conan (starts in Old Tanara around lvl 35)
Best story-line ever is the quest about Aragon's heritage in Lord of the Rings online. Starts in Rivendell, brings you to Evendim and ends on that huge turtle raid there.
Yeah probably getting my leafblower in EQ, first epic I completed way back - was good.
One that comes to mind immediately is the final quest in the Dragoon AF quest line in FFXI. You begin the Dragoon job quest at level 30 (or you can anyway), which is where the storyline begins. And the final quest, for the Dragoon AF helmet comes much later, when you've gotten your Dragoon to around level 60 and it concludes the storyline.
First, what makes it seem so awesome is that you realize you're finishing a story that began (in my case at least, since I was a rather slow leveler) a long time ago. Second reason - and the biggest one - is how poetic and moving its conclusion is. SE storytelling at its finest. I can't find the cut-scene on YT now for some reason (I've seen it there before), or I'd link it :-/.
and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
This was based on sense of accomplishment. There is this shawl in EQ that gives +8 to alot of stats. Basically its for the shoulders and good for pretty much any character. Quest is a pain in the but, requires you to get alot of skills up like fishing and sewing. Real pain, but sense of accomplishment was worth it. I completed that quest for my enchanter who was 65th when I left the game. Haven't been back since then, guess they raised max level up some and this item isn't as uber.

The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.
My best quest? had to be the shaman epic one from Everquest.
Took me all over the place from butcherblock mountains to underwater locals, specially the one where you had to sit underwater with 2 sharks circling around so you needed to stay invised the whole time, with some kind of underwater breathing going on so you didn't drown until a dog appeared.
Heres the quest line>http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=767
edit: Actually after careful reading (first part throw me) that is the right quest, just starts off differently.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Helping a pal with his Wizard epic in EQ1.
The level of planning it took....
I also enjoyed saving the baby from Blackborrow, only to keep it in the bank as an item for literally 5 years.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Getting my first Atlan weapon in Asheron's Call back in the day (and when they were some of the best weapons in th game).
Getting all those motes for the frst time was a month long effort.
I KNOW EVERYONE IS GOING TO POST ABOUT THEIR FAVORITE P V E EXPERIENCE, but you said EPIC. Epic is not an AI program on your screen. Those are programmed to be defeated by following a sequence of steps, usually something you can google nowadays.. Epic - for me at least - is fighting the unknown, dealing with unpredictable odds (Non-instanced PVP)...and overcoming an enemy for the sake of your realm.
That being said...I'll use Dark Age of Camelot as my example "epic" moment.
1. Grabbing the kill X enemy realm players from the General in front of the PvP portal zone keep.
2. Seeing that all three realms have an alliance leader on and are ready for battle.
3. Seeing three hundred realm mates get on ships, cross the Irish Sea, and sack Hibernia's castles, all night long.
4. Seeing Hibernia react with even more players, and then seeing Albion loading up on a fully combined zerg and coming up our tailpipe.
5. In the end, the Hibs got distracted by the albs and us (midgard) went in for the Spear of Lug (relic) and took it back to our home realm's keep.
Some of the things you would have seen from various realms:
Archer ambushes (Hibs loved this)...reinforcements pouring out of a portal keep, only to be mowed down by 8 man ranger teams.
Rows of seige weaponry. Seeing more than 1 castle in flames on the Realm War map - seeing trebuchets, catapults, etc., and realm mates defending these machines against two other realms.
Elite high realm ranked 8 man teams trying to bottom feed off of scattered zergs...and coming up against other elite 8 man teams. (yeah, no instanced battleground sillyness here).
Cheers and elations from Midgard when every single player on all three realms sees that a Hibernian relic has been captured. More cheers when the Spear of Lug makes it to Midgard and we get the corresponding bonuses to our realm and even people who are level 1 see the bonus. (Meaningful pvp).
Now that's a quest.
/RIP grown up mmorpgs
This is what quests were about back in the day! Along with the epics in eq1 that could take a year to get.
FFXI Chains of Promathia story quest line pre-nerf.
A-freekin-mazing. Made you feel like a god by the time you finished it. From start to finish, it was epic.
I'd have to agree with this. The story and missions in FFXI were indeed fantastic. Unfortunately, you encountered them so few and far between. Every awesome 3-4 hour story experience with your linkshell was interrupted by several weeks of grinding. Not to mention most players didn't get to seamlessly experience the nation rank/Zilart/CoP missions during the leveling process, which could have made the overall journey experience so much better. In addition to sky and the dynamises, most of these missions were pretty much the equivalent of FFXI's "end game," even though they mostly had level 30-50 caps.
At least those were my experiences. And of course, my experiences =/= everyone else's.
