Improving Wrath of Heroes

This is some feedback I left them and I figured I'd share it with everyone else to see others opinion and get the word out more.

 


Now the most important point I want to make about wrath of heroes is the simplicity. It is FAR too easy and little to no opportunity for skill to be involved. Team work is even on the most basic levels. Some might think this would be a good thing but it's not for a MOBA and the longevity of the game. If you want people coming back and buying things from the cash shop it has to be a game where skill also plays an important part. A misconception is that you cannot have a skillful game that is also easy to get into. You can and it wouldn't take much to rework Wrath of heroes into a game that would attract new players and competitive players alike. 


 


Skills


Firstly the amount of skills should be increased to atleast 8. I've heard this is already being talked about so that's good. 


 


Get rid of the spammable skill would be something I would like to see happen. I think it's mostly a skill with little to no fun factor about using. If you were to keep it, I would say make it the only ability with auto targeting use. I think the auto targeting is very much a bad implementation mainly for melee classes since they have to be in the face of their opponents. This leads to more players playing ranged than melee. Auto targeting for just the spammable ability would make it much less punishing to melee players.


 


Ranged Ground Target Area of Effect spells is something this game direly needs. Each class should have a GTAE spell of some sort. For instance the shaman could drop a totem that heals allies from ranged that way he didn't have to run in to heal the melee that is trying to kill the opposing team. Some classes could use multiple gtae spells which would be considered the more advanced classes.


 


A feature from warhammer online that didn't make it into Wrath of heroes that should most definitely be in is morale abilities. This was very much a good idea to have to build up to powerful abilities. These abilities could be stuff that is used to control the other team for some classes or unleash devastating damage from others. I personally would like to see Ranged Ground Target area of effect Crowd control for morale 4 abilities so you can add another layer of dynamics to the game.  Would be similar to Dark age of Camelot CC but only usable every 1 minute and only a max of say 10 seconds.


 


Each class should also have a cooldown ability that is used defensively. Some could be in the form of heals and others damage reduction etc. The abilities should be made to where skillful use gets the most benefit from it.


 


Another thing that could be worked in somehow is group speed. I would like a speed bonus when all 6 members are near each other to promote teamplay. This speed bonus would be very small but enough to make people, even pick up groups work together.


 


Classes


There would be nothing wrong with making some classes take more skill to play than others. You could catagorize each class into different player levels but all have the same strength overall. That way a more advanced player would enjoy playing a class that requires a bit more aiming and stuff like that.


 


This game could be very good if the right steps are taken to improve the depth of it. It's already a good idea with the seperation of the MMO aspect because most pvp players only level to get to the endgame pvp.  Now that step is removed but the complexity and skill factor is not present right now.  I hope that some of my ideas are looked at because I would very much like to see a game like this succeed. Currently I just do not see it lasting.
