Our friends at Torhead.com have let us know that the beta version of the one-stop information site for Star Wars: The Old Republic has officially launched. The site contains mind-boggling amounts of information about items, missions, skills, abilities, etc. and has handy dandy tools like skills calculators and more. It's definitely a site that every ToR fan will want to have at their fingertips. Check it out!

Nice, will be of use!
Zam doesn't mess around. They are so quick to get these up.

yes now all we need is a gearscore addon and all will be right with the elitists.
Will all the info they collect in beta still be relavent when the game launches?
Star Wars: The Old Republic, now with 100% less exploration and discovery!
I pray I will not be alone in my disregard for this site.
U know ill only use torhead for crafting stuff. I wont use it for exploration or quest stuff the map does a good job telling me wher eto go on quest already so dont need that anyways.
I wont read story spoilers and i hope when its all said and done all specs are equal for the rolee the fill so i dont have to look up some best spec for raiding or pvp i hated that in wow.
O man swtor have already sites better than most of mmorpg-s out there. I think i would spend my working day calculating talents, it is so fun. And TY very much MMORPG for SWTOR beta testing weekend, i cant sleep and eat for days Tomorrow i will forget everything, no sport, no wife, no children--only me and force. TY TY TY TY
Pretty much this...
...though on a certain level, they probably feel that if they do not use the site then they will be at a disadvantage. So the conflict begins to grow within them, do they stick to their guns - do they compromise - or do they simply lash out at sites?
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Trust me you are not alone.
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
Surfing that site would be akin to deliberately shitting yourself before you reached the toilet,
FACT!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

I got to using the wowhead site because I didn't like reading WoW's quest text. Annoyed the hell out of me with its vague discriptions.
When the quest finder came in, it was a little better. But still a pain.
SW:TOR seems straight forward where every thing is with its sleek and user friendly UI. Not to mention the voice acting and interactivity helps a lot.
I wouldn't use the torhead site unless I got really. REALLY. Stuck.

Will be interesting to see if at some point BioWare changes their stance on addons. Personally, I'd hope not.

I wouldn't mind tweaking their UI a bit.
If you're going to use this kind of thing I would like to suggest http://db.darthhater.com/

The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.
Even the folks against "addons" tend to be okay with UI tweaks and customization.

It's not the only one:
http://www.r2-db.com/ - who just announced they'll be collaborating with torhead and there's also http://db.darthhater.com/ which would seem to be the Curse version, tied into one of the biggest fansites.
I haven't really looked through any of them, but it's really impressive that they all popped up as soon as the NDA went down.
sites like this just ruin mmo's in my opinion.
Bah... why even play the game after knowing every item, location, etc...
I guess if you're a silver spoon fed spoiled brat you'll really appreciate these kinds of sites. After all, why should you have to actually play the game and figure these things out yourself? Where's the fun in that?
The guy that beat you in pvp is so much more badass than you... better go to the data site and figure out what you need to do to compete!
The quest npc told you to go somewhere you've never been before... better go to the data site and figure out what encounters you'll have!
on and on........
You now know or can know just about everything in the game.
This is such a typical case of generation ME.
Spoiled *****.
I'd like a complete mount/vehicle database, plx.
edit: Wiff pikshurs!

That's not because of the website, it's just how the game was designed.
Very Nice!! Thanks!
