Star Wars: A game in change

Well, it seems that the Developers that made JTL is finaly free to just make improvments on the ground game now. Not only do we have a combat upgrade on the way, and a big one it seems. They will now change the way PVP works completly. No more TEFs, no Covert or Overt status and Faction bases will start affecting who rules a planet and as a secondary effect what kind of NPCs that spawn in cities and bases there.

Also, new looting rules, new veteran rewards and much more.

I like change!

Hell yea. Sounds real exciting. It would have been real nice if they would have dont thing pre-JTL, but the fa ct they are taking it seriosly is a good thing. Can't wait to see the changes!!

All these changes are well and good but they have yet to adress the two major problems.

    1) Armor and doctor buffs are way to overpowered, fights last to long because of this and hell because of regen rate and lack of dmg I could take missions set a macro go to the nest activate the macro and leave until it was dead.

    2) To many Jedi/Dark Jedi, it's in the period when the Galatic war was at it's highest, Jedi and Dark Jedi were almost extinct not able to wander around towns with a badge hanging above their head saying "Jedi Master" without Darth Vader coming and cutting their head off. Sony needs to bite the bullet listen to the fans and start commiting genecide on Jedi limiting the number of them to what they originally promised, "On a single server a player shouldn't be able to count the number of Jedi on more then a single hand"

"Sony Customer Service is like Santa Clause, people say they've seen them but they don't really exist"

if they will limit the jedi, the population on the servers would decrease dramatically...

The problem with this is SOE's boss on this project Lucas Arts. LA knows that Jedi sell games, they won't let SOE "bite the bullet".

When the game was first released, Jedi were slotted to have perma-death, which would have greatly reduced the number of Jedi. LA made them change the system to "accomodate their fans".

I'm also a little confused as to why people bring up continuity with the jedi thing. Nobody complains about a Wookiee walking around or even being an Imperial even though they should all be slaves. No one seems to have a problem with all the Imperial Colonels that are non-human running around, which is very against "continuity", so why do having a lot of Jedi grate so badly?

Good point, but honestly the jedi thing is rather blatant. One of the key premises of episodes 4-6 are the fact that the jedi were all wiped out, extinct except Obi Wan and Yoda.

Lucas really needs to get themselves in order and stop treating an MMO like any of their other games. But during the times this was developed Lucas Arts did have ALOT of internal problems and I beleive a mass firing, its been a very long time since I kept up with that though, I could be mistaken. It wasn't in direct relation to SWG though, I beleive they just had alot of internal staff problems.

Wookies should not be allowed to be imperial, plain and simple, and there are alot of other issues that make it very inconsistent with the movies of that time. But to me JTLS is a huger error to me. The expansion doesn't complete the game from what I have seen, just adds space combat. Everyone can be a pilot at that, no need for smugglers to get from place to place if your a rebel and relive Obi Wan and Luke's efforts to get off Tatooine without detection as rebel operatives.

I love the game, I am playing it now, but honestly the game trivialises so many of the things it should be focusing on instead.

My biggest problem with JTL is the graphics. They tried to go too much into the eye candy. In the movies all there was was black space and white starts. Didn't have all the pink nebulas as stuff like that. It makes it feel more like Wing Commander than Star Wars.

Ahhh, yes, they only time you really saw anything like that in the movies is at the end of Empire. Other then that they didn't get real fancy with the space scenery.
