With the NDA lifted this is my review of the game, the same time these are the very reasons I cancelled my pre-order.
I played 2 charaters to maximum level and had a chance to test end-game content as well.
Story driven MMO.
Is it really? Aside from the class story about 90% of the quests are the same for every class per sides. The story starts out slow, then it picks up, but after like level 30 you will see the pattern. The whole game has around 10 types of dialoges/quests with different names, locations and voice acting. When I had a dejavu for the 3rd time it was everything but an epic feeling.
Heroic feeling.
Without my companion out, even with itm I don't feel like being a hero. Strong MOBs are wiping the floor with player characters left and right. Actually I never met the one vs many concept BioWare was talking about. I loved the concept of fighting many MOBs at once, it just wont happen since you die way too easy to MOBs. This is a personal point of view though.
Technical background.
So there was no patch so far that did not break existing high level characters and content. There is no area in the game where you don't find a game-breaking bug daily. The launcher, patching, login, logout, companions, vehicles, skills, transportation, etc.
During the last 2 weeks I was unable to play my high level character and they seem to be unable to fix things.
With less then 20 days left untill Early Access it is impossible to fix this game. If I was proven wrong, I will admit.
End-Game content.
A few 4men Heroic instances, one raid instance, 3 battlegrounds and one open-world battleground. It's just not enough to keep me interested longer than a few weeks - or rather days.
PvP
Some classes/builds seems to dominate, but I guess balance issues can be addressed later on. PvP feels pointless, I don't feel like I accomplish anything, there are so many things that's missing, I don't even get into details.
The overall feel.
The heroic feeling is just not there aside from class quest cut scenes. SWTOR seems like a solid themepark MMO while playing through the first 20 levels. For me it's ovbious, it is not ready to be released and the release will be immature. I can only hope the game will be fixed, content will be added and it will become a game without major isses and bugs. A game I'd gladly play
I did not mean to troll SWTOR fans in any way, just wanted to share information you might want to consider so close to launch.

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
technically, though, it should be soloable. in this day and age, the concept of "scaling" the mobs should be standard. no real reason not to. i don't understand the prejudice (not yours, sir) of the gaming community as a whole against the idea of "solo" players mingling in their world. mmo doesn't necessarily mean teamwork. there should always be room for lone wolf players and people who prefer to stay in the cities and trade. my idea of the perfect mmo is one that encompasses ALL gaming styles. it's the holy grail, really. one that's inclusive rather than exclusive.
that aside, i notice the big criticism seems to be the disappointment in the game being a single player game masquerading as an mmo. which maybe will get the skyrim fans thinking it's not such a good idea after all...
personally, i don't mind bioware trying something a little different. they've gone a little hard on the storymode, and good on them for trying. it will no doubt appeal to a lot of star wars fans. i think that's what you've got to be for it. a star wars fan. someone who's going to get a lot out of the universe and its *ahem* lore.
there's a lot of games that could take a leaf out of tor and put a bit of development into its own questing ideas. given we're all sick to death of "kill 10 rats", i think it shows remarkable bravery for any company to go out on a limb to try and change that given the often harsh rebuttle from the gaming community when they actually TRY to do that thing we want them to do - change the plot.
I read a few sentences of each of your points then skipped to the bottom but lets face it you post screams of "i dont understand beta and this game is broken before release"
you cancelled your pre order based on what you experienced in a TEST phase of a game... not all game features will be present at this point in time people need to take things as they are its not to get a full feel of the game and its a pre release the game will develop after release futher as people give feedback.
so so so many testers are playing the game in beta expecting a polished fully fleshed out game get a grip seriously stop your damn moaning and be happy your able to play before you buy the game

If you preordered through Origin, mind telling me how you cancelled? I can't reach EA/origin customer service.
An honest review of SW:TOR 6/10 (Danny Wojcicki)
I preordered, I will admit that this is my second beta weekend and I am already less interested in the personal story, even when playing another class...But I have never been a huge quest person, and I know thats probably not a good combo, but I will see....I just maybe don't like the Bounty Hunter story, verse the Sith Inq. story.
They did seem to miss out on some of the feeling, I remember the dev interviews early on, how they were saying they were not going to have like kill 10 rat type quests and such, and the first thing you were gonna fight was going to be 'epic' and you would be like a hero to start type of thing and everything would be big....I was skeptical and it seems they figured out, you cant have a player killing 'boss' type mobs the whole game, and everything is a little over the top, everything my low level guy does is stuff that no one else has been able to retrieve forever (even though, I am a student and much weaker than my master on the Sith Inq. and such)...It kind of gave me Rift flash backs where everyone cheers at you for being their savior and such...Not a big deal, but an observation.
I am still preordered, as I am not playing anything, and I am sure I will get my money out of it, even if it isn't a long term game for me. I am trying to have lower expectations, so if it does start to click later, I will be suprised and pleased, and if not, it won't be any deal I have to rage about heh.
Try going here and clicking through. Scroll down to "Purchases that are considered preorders can be cancelled."
I cancelled some time ago but I do remember having trouble finding info on the website. I ended up calling them.
