Important Questions about Starwars the Old Republic and its Mechanics!

I'm from aion and I quit the game and SWTOR will be my new game once it comes out, I find this game really fun and interesting but,

I got a few questions:  (About Pre-Ordering)

1. I called 3 stores namely Gamestop , Bestbuy & Target to ask if they still have pre-orders for the Special Collector's Edition and they all are out of stock , and I asked what they have and they said they only have the standard edition and they no longer issue "Early Access Codes"

So my Question is if I Pre-order from Origin will I get my Early Access Code after I buy it? I Don't really care how many days i get for early access as long as it's more than 2 days at least , 5 is max we can get so it's all good.

2. Regarding the color Crystals they've included upon pre-ordering is it just yellow with the black glow? should be able to change the color in game at least.

(About Game Mechanics) :

3. Like I said im from aion online and I got used to having auto-approach target just by using a skill or auto attacking , i know there's no auto attack in this game but just wondering if they'll implement an auto approach feature because as a ranged class you always gotta watch your "Distance" between the target just to cast your skill.

4. Is it true that each race has its own unique racial traits? Does race affect anything aside from the storyline (NPC dialogues and such)?

I found this link I wonder if there is any truth to this can someone please clarify?

5. last but not the least and my most important question:

this is the most interesting part about this game that separates it from other MMO that this game is not linear unlike most games, the story and the dialogues and the choices you make affect your progression and may open new quests later, I love Bioware games , I really enjoyed playing Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.

So When picking choices You either gain "Lightside" or "Darkside" Points, I know that they are for certain armors later on in the game that require certain amount of points of either affinities for you to equip them , but here's when it gets tricky , If I choose to be a "Good Sith" and picked the good dialogues and get Lightside points and vice versa as a "Bad Jedi" choosing bad decisions and gaining Darkside points,

as a good sith for example are we allowed to wear armors that require lightside points?

and what are the "Pros & Cons" of doing so?

Hope to hear from anyone that is knowledgeable :)

It's not sold out at Best Buy. Go to bestbuy.com

The preorder crystal is black with a yellow glow, there are other colours in game.

As far as I know, the racial traits are now all social fluff - for exampleTwi'lek's get a special dance emote.

There is Good Sith gear yes; a Light Side Sith can have a blue lightsabre for example.

    1. Yeah if you go Origin, as far as it looked to me reviewing it, you still get the early access.

    2. The crystals are interchangable at any time. So you can keep the crystal on you as an item, add it to something, take it out, use it on something else. Get bored of it, bank it, and use a blue or red one.

    3. No. It's WASD, you manually turn to face your target and position yourself. Defense seems 360 for everyone tho', so there doesn't seem to be a "great" advantage at positioning from behind. Save to fulfill some move's requirements.

    4. There's no real traits, just unique social interactions. So yeah, if you're a race someone doesn't like you'll hear a comment. But it'd not change anything as far as quest / story goes.

    5. Well.. The way you described it would be more awesome than how it's actually implimented. Light side / dark side points are offered. Much like 4 in the over all scheme of things it'll change how some people interact with you, but it'd never really affect the over all choices / progress of the quests from anyone else. Say you and a buddy both make Sith, you choose all good, he chooses all bad; some of your companions will be different- some quest rewards will be different, yes the faction armor (basically what it is) is different, quests will progress the same, the bosses will be the same, the xp will the same, and the pattern continues of sameness.

It's all minor touches. It wasn't enough to impress me, but it was enough to have others claim they're changing the genre.

I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

who told you this was the most NON linear MMO out there?  If anything, this MMO is going to take the cake for the most LINEAR.  It's one of my major beefs with the game's design.  It's as linear as Aion as a matter of fact.

Now, to stay on topic and not derail your thread, Racial traits are pretty much useless outside of roleplaying socially.
