I agree with the OP, I have often considered Bioware games and Bethesda games to be very similar, I like their storylines and I enjoy their game play. However TOR is simply amazing. It really blew me away, and in my opinion is better than skyrim.
Both games are RPGs, so from the perspective of someone who primarily solos, it's valid to compare them in terms of which offers the better RPG experience. The fact that one requires a subscription and the other doesn't is not something that changes that. If it were, we could stop comparing TOR and Guild Wars 2.
SWTOR is a mmorg world you enter, Skyrim is a single player RGP that revolves the entire world around you.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Ok, I give up. I am going to sell all my games, consoles, and computer and just buy a sandbox.
But then some a-hole will come up to me playing in my sandbox and say, "Did you know that this sandbox was not the first sandbox. You should have went to the desert, there's a real sandbox. This one is too linear."
Can't wait for the SWTOR mod for Skyrim.
lol exactly anyone that doesn't consider Skyrim a sandbox well you have a strange definition of a sandbox or a clueless troll, Skyrim is about the closest thing to a living sandbox world i have ever played.
as for the SWTOR mod, i was actually talking to a buddy about that and was wondering if a Star wars total conversion mod would even be possible (doubtful but one can wish right?). I would love to play a Star Wars game from Bethsesda in the style of Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

I am locking this because the response to the OP has not been good or of solid discussion.
