Huge tide of players asks for removal of the official MO Lead Moderator

After several threads being deleted/closed SV caved in and has left this one open most of the day. As of this posting 78% would like to see the Lead Moderator removed from his position. This is after the other Lead Moderator stepped down and the Community Manager quit.

But seriously, either way, once a company even allows posters to post about moderators, it is pretty much the end is it not?
Once they start trying to pander to a few rabid people, either pro or con, they have pretty much hit the end i would say.
It's BECAUSE people's opinions and feedback in that respect are censored out so much that threads like this happen.
SV are not a faceless company that takes no heed of the players, the MO community actually has somewhat of an impact.
As for Talwin everyone knows who he is and know that his alterego is pretty carebear emo and driven by his emotions. That shines out on his moderator account. If he doesnt like you he will outright ignore you even if you come to him with a reasonable appeal, it's nothing but immature. In fact when I think about the way he's been with me it makes me pretty glad I've leaked his id because he's immature and completely unsuitable for the job. When Im not thinking about what an asshole hes been though I dont care so much.

It always puzzled me how an egoistic underage person who bans people by personal preference could become lead mod..
LOL the Lead Moderator just locked the thread after replying. Pretty much his response boils down to:
1. He's a volunteer
2. He's very busy
3. Sometimes he misses peoples messages on IRC
4. Sometimes the forum magically loses PMs sent to him
5. He's right, 80% of the players are wrong, and he's locking the thread...

i thoguht the thread was about having another lead moderator instead of just talwin who the community at large have issues with. Im sure peltny of the communtiy would like him to step down though. But there isnt anyone willing to take his palce.

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.

After reading through that link it seems most of them players just have a blatent disregard of rules, a guy writes the word F**K and then questions why he got an infraction. Whether the forums are 18+ doesnt give an automatic right to swear or say what you please, people have a right to be protected from such blasphemy as they maybe offended by such language.
It can be a thankless task if you"re a dick indeed. this goes with any position involving some sort of authority along with a bit of responsability.
All you need is some professional person who's really involved in this job. If you don't pay somebody, you can't really expect any real professionalism because it won't be professional by definition.

Don't you think that speaks to a much larger issue with the community? The Community Manager quit a few weeks back, the other Lead Moderator quit a few month prior, and the current Lead Moderator is only in his position because "there isn't anyone willing to take his place" .
To be blunt, if you don;t fix your lines of communication with your customers (and potential customers) what you do in game will be a moot point.

Thanks Slapshot, I think you're right - me being here now is at least a start in trying to improve things.
On your other thread you say that BlackOpal didn't post on these boards.
That's a bit of a suprise to me (personally) so will try to fill the gap as best I can.

Again, this is not directed at anyone specific, but I would argue that the issue to it being a thankless task lies within the questionable quality of the GM and Mod team, rather then within the community being ungreatful, they've got all reasons to be unthankful.

Tbh I see it more as a form of damage control :P
I see it as the newest act of this tragicomedy that is SV. I'm kinda like "lolololulz they can't possibly be serious" but then I remember that it's SV and that I just need to lean back, laugh about it and let it happen.
The best thing about a GM posting here is, that now everyone can see why so few people besides the haters want to discuss the game in this forum. If you are polite and constructive in the discussion you're standing in front of immature and hateful people.
I mean, I don't like star vault too since this terms of use scandal and the way they handle their game, so don't consider me as a fanboy or something.
