Is it just me or does he have the waist-line of a 13 year old girl?
I love the design and rendering, he just seems.... kinda teeny through the middle.

The sholder to hip ratio is a bit over exagerated but correct for a male and typical for comic book superheros.
My theme song.
Well I would hope not, 13 year-old girls do have hips at that age. Well at least the ones I worked with in corrections and the one I'm raising did/do. I think they went with the exaggerated heroic body-type here. Fine for me really since I don't tend to stare at silhouettes very often when my character's in motion or standing still.
"Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas."
Yup. It looks like Iron Man.
This game seems more like Ultimate Allience on the PC rather than a MMO.
Looks cool but the size difference of the upper body compared to the legs and waist is strange.
Seems like something youy would see in a Pixar movie.
Although another Ultimate Alliance would be fine with me, I have to ask: how do we know what it looks like? They've only shown character concepts at this point; unless I've missed something.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
It is not a MMO, you have to play their characters, you cannot make your own, hence NOT a MMO.
Hmmmm........
Massive.
Multiplayer.
Online.
By the purest definition of the term MMO, personal character creation is not necessary. Although it does fly in the face of the accpeted standard of creating your own character.
And before my flamesuit melts to my head, no, I do not agree with the Dev's decision to have players play established canon characters. I just think it's silly to say it's not an MMO because you can't create your own personal avatar. I might agree with an "it's not an RPG" statement, but JRPGS have been having us roleplay as someone else for years, so maybe that won't hold up either.

Zealously
Litigated
IPs
Wait, that doesn't spell anything. Oh well. It still remains the reason that you'll be playing their toons instead of your own.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
I feel bad for Marvel Entertainment... the people who make decisions on what to make and how to make it have failed for years. They have shifted the perfect setting for a MMO into a childs game and have only launched fighting titles after some pretty amazing side scrollers back in the day.
Marvel... Please stop wasting your IP and earn the revenue people this day and age throw money towards. Comics aren't big business anymore but online media and mmo's are. Fire some of your 90 year old "professionals" and get someone in there that knows the modern day business.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
How is this game and DCUO any different??? Make MOAR stupid MMOs that nobody will play...
I really don't like this new Adi Granov's style...
Oh it is a lot different than DCUO. At least in DCUO, you can make your own avatar, in this game you have to pick one of theirs, hence this is NOT a MMO in any shape or form.
Here's an idea: Iron Men Online. Where you can create your very own Iron Man, and customize his armor to your heart's content.
There's the added advantage of balance, of course, because each player will be another Iron Man.
And wait: There's a lore-grounded reason as to why the world's full of Iron Men! You've fallen right in the middle of a devious scheme by a mad scientist who's creating infinite parallel universes to make himself the master of time, and something's gone very wrong... but let me not spoil it - fourth pillar, you know!
I'm not crazy about the idea of being forced to choose established avatar to play this game.
That said , if those characters were given monthly missions that played out like an actual comic book issue, I might find playing the game more engaging.
Then again, I might not... I would still lose immersion watching 30 other iron-man clones running around New York at the same time I am.
Log into Super Hero Squad Online. Same developer, same type of game. Gonna give it a miss.
Very much waiting to hear all the reviews from betas on this game and how it will be with everyone being actual Heros while grouping.
I can't imagine any way they can make this game have a personal feel at all because it's not like someone will be able to play Iron Man and then have his color scheme.. purple for instance. Everytime you play him, you get the red suit or the grey suit or something.
I know how I think the in-game world will be, probably instances where you "queue" as Iron Man and others queue as Captain America, Hulk or Spidey.. and then everyone just 'enters' the space and plays. But I'm very curious to read how it actually is.. right now I just can't see beyond restrictive personal choice, which for a mmo is ALWAYS a bad thing.
If this is how it will actually turn out, I can't imagine that having any type of longevity unless it's in a PvP state ala League of Legends type of quick matches or DCUO Legendary matches.
"TO MICHAEL!"
The problem is whoever at Marvel that understands movies and comics, don't seem to understand a thing about MMOs and why people play them or what they want out of them.
Unless Marvel execs had something totally different in mind than a "typical" mmo (which is entirely possible) that they think will break down the usual WoW barriers, they need to stay out of this genre of gaming and stick to consoles which they do pretty decent as well.
I can only imagine that the maker of the game sold Marvel on "99.9% of the mmos out now are WoW copies. Let's go in a completely different way and we'll make money!"
"TO MICHAEL!"
Should be stockier, and/or, shorter. Just seems too tall. First impression, what can I say?
I'd say since Stark's stats are 6" 1' and 225 lbs and the suit would make him a bit taller, the pics about right. Shorter and stockier would be Wolverine.
"TO MICHAEL!"
Would have been awesome if they did a marvel MMO based off of TSR's Marvel Super Heroes. I really liked that game and I still think it has a great charecter creation. Ohhh well!
That game did intended for you to use the current marvel super heroes but It was more fun making your own.
I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.
Nice model, I doubt it looks anywhere near this good in-game.
not true -- 2 different studios supported by Gazillion
Marvel Universe is being developed by Secret Identity Studios
Super Hero Squad Online is developed by The Amazing Society

Yucks sounds like a horrid way to play an MMO. No thanks.
I just cannot get into a game where I cannot create my own character. I enjoy the 'growing' process as I gain skills, levels, knowledge or whatever. Having a premade character just, meh.
