We havent heard any new big annoucement from Arenanet for a while, last month have been very "quiet"..
Whats up, Is some big annoucement on way?
Also its 4th December, where is beta annoucement?

Final class and (closed) beta date announcement are both supposed to be during December (Since it's the only month left for 'before the end of the year')
There's also supposed to be some other blog posts made and some other information revealed, though they didn't say about what.
Closed beta to be annouced this year...It will start next year.
So we can expect 2012 autumn release.. (FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK

Closed beta is on a need to know basis. If you aren't in it you probably won't hear about it.
Somehow I doubt this. They have been doing alpha testing with "family and friends" for a while now, and when they reach outside for beta testers, even if for a very small-scale closed beta, word will get out. Word always gets out.
That, and I think the beta will a little bit bigger, since they have been testing for so long, and gone through so many iterations. It's pretty polished now, and I think they will want a larger scale of a players who haven't touched it before. That, and I think, even though it won't be released until "it's ready," they would really like it if they could get it out sometime in the spring of next year.
I too, though, hunger for news. I want them to stop teasing me and give me the mesmer to see. And more in-game footage!

I assume many announcements will be made either (or all) Christmas eve, day, and or new years eve.. Theyl keep their word about a big announcement and the closed beta announcement in December so it wont be new years day I guess.. Honestly I am so sick of waiting..
They said they will publickly announce the the GW2 (closed) beta start in 2012..
They have 4 weeks left to just do that, announce it, and it will start somewhere in 2012...
Best time to release in 2012, will be April to Jun, as by that time many of the SWTOR crowd might be looking for a new story and game...
I still beleive the GW2 beta can be done in 3 to 4 months (i highly doubt there will be an open beta, maybe just and extended testing weekend or two)
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

The Secret World comes out in April so I hope it doesn't come out until September at the earliest. GW2 may not be my type of game (in its current state), but I'm for sure gonna check it out and I want to give it my full attention.

It's coming. It will probably be the end of December. Keep in mind they just had a big expo in korea, so that took up a lot of their attention, and it didn't sound like they were expecting to be doing that so soon.

Haha no I don't hate anybody. I just love to play MMOs and I want to be able to focus on a new one when it comes out exclusively for a few months. I'll probably be playing ToR and TSW simultaneously when GW2 comes out. SO it would be nice if I already had enough time spent in both to take a break and check out the new kid.

No pun intended, but if they release secret world any time in 2012, it will go the same route as the AoC release.
