Mortal Online Closest thing to a Skyrim MMO?

Seems like I'm not the only one who notices the similarities between Skyrim and Mortal Online.  I hope that the developers will learn from Skyrim and try to make Mortal even more like Skryim.

"All in all I would say Mortal Online is the closest thing we got to a Skyrim MMO until Bethesda decides to create one.  Mortal Online is not without it’s flaws, but were not going to get another MMO like it for years to come."

MO fans really need to stop trying to compare their game to other games like Skyrim or Eve.  You will fall well short every time.  Just stop already.

Agree. I think the biggest difference isn't even in-game, but the company that lies (no pun intended) outside of it.

the only similarity between MO and Skyrim is the first person view (which in MO is the only view possible). that's it. do not play MO thinking it's anything like Skyrim.

    MO has no questing.

    MO has no ingame story.

    MO has very little magic.

    MO has no saving points.

MO has no "menu" button that puts a fight on hold wile you seach for your health pot.

    MO has no fast travel.

MO has no roaming NPCs ( only very few vendors npcs actually).

MO has no in game map.

Mo has other players that will try all they can to kill you and take all your stuff. guaranteed.

MO is a free for all, full loot, sandbox mmo(much like DF) that has a lot of bugs and a lot of greefers. you have to enjoy fps pvp in order to play this game, and you also have to have loads of patience to overlook all the buggs and broken features.

Biggest difference between MO and skyrim:

Im waiting for MO to become completely fixed and worked cuz the fighting system need a lot of work, but i can see the potential. Bug is mostly the problem and im aware of that.

As for skyrim, i have no hope for that game. They released it at his best, but i heard it was easy and i hate pausing during my gameplay. Seem like i will have to pause none stop in skyrim. I got more to say, but il stop cuz you probably know where im getting at if you're not a skyrim fanboy.

i originally took interest in MO thinking it would be an elderscrolls style mmo. Of course i was disapointed and for the first 2 weeks regrettedmy purchase. Mainly due to the lack of tutorials and being completely confused as to what im doing. But i stuck with it and i have to say it gives me as much enjoyment playing it as i ever got out of an elder scrolls title. Whilst it is closer to skyrim than any other mmo on the market its certainly not a good comparison.

But jsut because it isnt as similar as people would hope that doesnt mean it isnt a fun game to play.

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

Both MMO and Skyrim have first person combat and full loot (thou even there MO fails, as risars don't drop their wepoans/armor, do they). The similarity ends there.

That's like saying a Toyota Corolla is the closest thing to a Ferrari Spider; they are both cars...

Strongly agree on this! But rather than arguing it out - try the free trial please.

    Thanks!

The article you link to in the OP certainly does a good job of pointing out some points of comparison.  Unfortunately trying to compare a MMO vs a single player experience is problematic at best and is probably futile.

Well said and 100% true. I agree, the best way to see if you will like MO (or any game) is to try the free trial.

Gotta agree that it is least to say questionable to compare single palyer to mmo, yet why not? I mean, sure, single palyer is a story evolving around YOU only (most of the times), but you can compare general gameplay mechanics and combat?

I think you might just as well add the "Try the free trial, thanks!" to your sig soon.. it's kinda unrelevant to this discussion..

Unlikely. SV seems to have a learning disability. If they can't even learn from their own mistakes how could they learn from a quality game?

    Correction....

Skyrim is what Mortal Online done RIGHT!

So much crap, so little quality.
