There is no "right" way to spend points.

It's all about what the player is most comfortable with. I may prefer a ranger/elem concentrating on animals and air magic. And I may be an incredible player with it. But the next guy will like a ranger/elem specializing in special arrow shots and earth magic to buff up their defenses. And the next guy may like ranger/elem specializing in trapping and (insert elem here).

The combinations in just one combination of classes are almost limitless (sure there is a limit, but there is sooo much variety). And that isn't even touching the other classes. It's all about personal preference. And only playing the game with trial and error will help you find what you are best at. Getting into a good guild is also very important because you can find a niche that they don't have a lot of (ie ranger with trapping) and if you like that, fill that spot. Then you are always useful for something.

I am still tinkering with finding the skills that I like the best and I've been playing for a while. That's one of the beautiful parts of the game. There are so many combinations you may not find just one that you like. I've found a few that I like so far, and I am only through 2 different combinations. Each profession has many many sub-specialities that you can pick from. For example, the elementalist has 4 main sub-specialities: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water...

Not sure if you have played the game before, but hope that this helps.

as an example to cooldevo's point i'm a ranger elementalist that specialises in spceial arrow attacks and the odd air magic knockdown spell.

the best advice about spending points would be to do your homework 1st. find 3 or 4 attributes that you will use for your character build and then just spenmd all your pints on them. i used to have a monk warrior that was very poor because i tried to do a liitle of everything. it didnt work, i was at lvl 17 but any mo/w at about lvl 12 would have been better at casting spells than me. so it is worth thinking before you spend. if you get confused or dont know what to spend points on during the game then just ask someone we don't all try and sell wood and iron, all the time ::::31::
