Hi!
I played Rift for about a month, and I've been playing WoW for more than 4 years.
At first, I liked Rift but found that it was way too like WoW with better graphics...
But as the time went by, I've been noticing a lot of content updates, and lots of fun stuff and expectations for the future.
I'd like you to try to convince me to come back to Rift and leave WoW. I'm a bit tired of it and tired of Blizzard. Trion seems to be a very nice company pushing hard to keep an edge.
So if you will, let's go! Convince me! (It shouldn't be too hard)
Just tell me some things that Rift does and that WoW doesn't hehe.
Why is it in the free to play game list on the frontpage?! If it's an error then is there any kind of "Scroll of Ressurection" to come back for some days to Rift for free? Is yes, then could someone send me one please?
Thanks!

Because they aren't charging for the client I believe?
WoW is to much like every nonsandbox mmo on the makret, and then some sandbox ones at that. I'm not really sure how someone is supposed to convince you to come back to a game you said you stopped playing because it was to much like WoW.
If you though it was fun, then play it, otherwise don't.
Rift is not Free by any stretch of the imagination.
They charge you for the digital download copy of client AND you have to pay for the first month's subscription unlike other MMOs that give the first 30 days sub free with purchase. (this happened to me in October this year, less than 2 months ago)
Somebody messed up on what column Rift is supposed to go in, or the marketers at Rift think we are idiots.
I'm not really sure what the OP is looking at, the game isn't listed as free on this site.
Under the games list it's makred as Retail. If you click Rift, it states that the game is 39.99, which is the correct price if you buy the deluxe edition and your first months sub. If you buy the standard edition it's only 30 dollars.
Having to actually pay for your first month isn't saying much, after you buy the game and pay for that month it costs you as much, or less then any other MMO that's only been out a short while.
ToR will cost you 60; that includes the first month. The deluxe edition will cost you 80 with the first month. 60 and 80 are both more then Rift's 40 dollar deluxe edition after paying for your first month.
Rift has gone from being WoWish to being what WoW should have been in a very short period of time. I'll admit that Rift should have been released with more than it had, but the speed an amount of content added more than makes up for it. There's still lots of people working on the content that Rift released with. As for convincing you, I don't think words can really describe it. All I can tell you is if you give it an honest try, get to 50, and try out everything the game has to offer; then there's no doubt in my mind that you'll enjoy it.
I encourage you to take a look at the videos Trion has created such as these:
Features:
Instant Adventures coming in 1.7:

There you go.
guess someone missed the "OR" download now part
Read what it says... Free to play OR Download now. Rift is free to play up to like lvl 15 or something like that.
Thanks for your reply, very helpful.
Instant Adventures interest me a lot, do you know when it'll be implemented?
I'll resub. I read enough online to excite me a lot hehe :P
Guess someone missed that it isn't free anymore since at least a week?

Smart**s.
What Rift does that WoW doesn't do:
1) Rifts. That's about it. Be prepared to enjoy these for the first 20 levels.
Oh, I almost forgot, you can literally level your way up to cap in Rift without actually moving from the spot your character is standing. Cross-Shard LFG tool, instanced warfront queues for PvP, and Instant Adventures for questing.
If you like lobby games, you'll enjoy Rift. You literally don't have to do anything except wait in queues to level. Isn't that great?
I can tell you don't play Rift.
Rifts
Invasions
Zone-wide events
Soul System - 8 Souls (talent trees) per class including PvP Souls.
Dynamic Content like what is mentioned above... WoW doesn't have it.
Faster Updates - this cannot be stressed enough. Content added monthly!
Planar Attunement (Alternate player advancement)
Chronicles - Solo/Duo Dungeons
Instant Adventure - It is what it is
Wardrobe - Look how you want regardless of what you're wearing
Open World PvP (Not a PvP zone) - Dailies and Rifts
Crafting that is meaningful and not pointless
Artifacts
Puzzles in every zone
Epic Quest Lines
Master Mode Dungeons
Non-cartoonish Graphics
Better mechanics to dungeons and raids (No rehashing)
Open World Raids which are almost non-existent in WoW
Instant Adventures was implemented today actually. Suprised the hell out of me.
