i pre-ordered 8/25 wonder which group that puts me in...
Pretty much the same for me. I know I pre-ordered about a month after it became available. I'm assuming I'll get in a day or two after early access starts, which will give me a full 5 days and that is more than I originally expected, so I'm happy.
a month after? i wouldnt plan on getting in any sooner than 12/17.... 75% of the preorders happened within the first month.... they had like a million preorders digital and hardcopy within a month.... some say it has around 1.5 million preorders digital and hardcopy now.
my point? there is no way they are letting in 500K people a day, that would completely bomb out the authentication servers. hell, auth servers bombed out when early access started for Aion and only maybe 150-200k people were trying to log in then.
take-away: there are a LOOOOT of people ahead of you.
Didn't the stress test have 2 million players getting in 2 waves in 2 days total?
Come on now you are not alone. I am moving to malaysia for next 6 months i will probably miss a lot of game time but hey real life comes first.
Study hard for exams, you got all the time to play SWTOR later on.
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian. Subs will be so low there is no need for more Snoocky-How many servers? The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
Posted in another thread, but I have to say since I preordered and actually started paying attention to SWTOR (5 days ago) Bioware has really handled itself incredibly well. There was confusion and panick about the UP TO 5 days early access with people thinking they would only get a day or two, and they pushed it back to 7 days so most could get at least 5 day of early access. They actually had beta weekends which each time simulate a game launch with over 2 million players to be ready for launch. They have been open and communicated exactly what was necessary.
It is clear they have some people on their team that have done this a few times. I have faith in this company to deliver a highly polished game and a smooth experience. I just hope they can design expansions that create longevity. WoW style expansions won't cut it.
Dont screw your future up over a game, it really isnt worth it. The richest commodity a man or woman can have is knowledge, use it wisely and your riches will come.
Are they still giving out earlie access codes? I just pre ordered from Game Stop and never got one.. When i called them they said i had to pre order months in advanced to get that code.. But on SWTOR.com it dosnt mention of any time limit and I remember Rift gave me one and i pre ordered it like a week before launch.. Anyone know if they are still handing them out on orgin?
That's dead wrong information imo. Now, maybe they were given a limited number of pre-order access codes at that store, I don't know. I would call them back and ask them again and if they tell you that they don't have an early access code then cancel your pre-order and order it off of Origin.
honestly i would just get it from origin in the first place.... best chance of getting access at the earliest possible time.
unfortunately i had to get mine through gamestop.... because i wanted the CE. the statue will look nice next to all my others and i will enjoy going to the CE only club house and acting snooty about it in game. bwaahahahaa
Lol, don't be snooty! =P
but.... i will be a sith.... it comes naturally....
and why else would they gives CE's a clubhouse if not to be snooty about it to the lesser folk. we will clearly be the superior master race of players!
Anybody with a million credits can buy a bracelet to get into your 'clubhouse'. Not so special anymore, huh?
someone is sad they couldnt afford the CE :S

I think you have to get SWTOR's customer service to step in according to their customer service forum threads. I pre-ordered from Gamestop.com in November and never got my access code, either. I sent an email to the SWTOR's support@swtor.com and per their instructions gave them an image of my proof of purchase, name/location of store or URL if purchased online, and the game edition ordered. I don't know if this will get me my code in time, but it is the info they want to investigate. According to what I'm able to find out Gamestop ran out of early access codes back in the summer, which sounds really, really suspicious to me.
i honestly do not understand what the hold up is. Unless you were getting the CE.... why would you preorder from GS over origin anyhow?
you want a physical copy of an MMO, of which you can DL the client right from the developers webpage like all other MMOs? not to mention that in 6 months if you are still playing, that disk copy is going to be horribly outdaged while the one you can DL from their webpage will most likely be an updated version of the game....
Any confirmation that the Thanksgiving client can be used for launch? I still have mine installed and was able to download a few updates. Not sure if they offically stated that it can. Any info would be great
Thanks

Client downloaded for 25th Nov beta can be used to play retail version. Anything older you have to re download.

Update for those w/ Gamestop.com pre-orders. I just got my early access code this morning. I sent an email both to SWTOR customer service (with the above data) and to Gamestop.com yesterday... so that was pretty fast. Now I get my physical copy that I purchased with Gamestop gift cards. A good morning's work. Think I'll break early for lunch.
Edit: FYI... this statement was included with the early access code, "Please note that once you receive this email, you will be unable to cancel your order."

Sure, you can get inside the clubhouse. The vendors still won't sell you anything without a CE.
Welp, looks like I'm going to fail 2 exams.
