I miss Eve market where you can put not only sell orders, but also buy orders.
I always miss Eve market, though.
Is it so hard to implement a reverse vendor? As a crafter, I want the ability to put a vendor before the entry to some zone where mobs drop necessary loot which will shout "buying _snake skin_, _armodillo thingie_ and _nutricious noodles_ for twice the price of NPC vendor! All those mobs drop them - instant gold! ENJOY THE GOLDEN SHOWER!!!" Okay, may be without that bit about shower, but you get the drift.
It's easy to do in Eve, but why can't most games implement it? Programmatically, it's not that hard at all.
Are you volunteering?

I miss innovation.
SWTOR just plays like WoW to me and I was bored of it when I quit WoW, it's why LotRO, AoC, WAR and RIFT failed, just stale WoW clones. Any one who tells you it isn't is just kidding themselves, it clearly looked at WoW and said "lets make WoW but with a Star Wars skin"...
I just don't see how this is any better than SWG Pre CU, the graphics ain't even better cause the art style sucks. It doens't even look like Star Wars, when I saw SWG at E3 it blew me away because it looked like the movies and was AMAZING for the time. When I look at SWTOR I just see a Cartoon and I cannot see Star Wars in it, infact when playing it you wouldn't tell it was Star Wars if it didn't have lightsabers.
Whats worse is the world is linear and feels more like a Single Player game, it doesn't feel open and free like an MMO should. They didn't learn from all the other Everquest like worlds where as they're linear they become top heavy and 90% of the world is dead and it makes it hard for new players to come in. SWG again got it right and yeah it might of had no content but you could choose when you do the content like Fallout or Skyrim. So you got new players doing the same content as veterans and no parts of the world ever died.
Just a shame that this is what SWG is getting replaced with, I'd even play an NGE version of SWG over this.
So much opinion passed off as fact in one post.
Thanks for a very original post especially comparison to WOW and how it is a single player game. You opened my eyes.
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
I miss Kermit.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I miss SWTOR beta that is what i miss, atleast 4 more days till release
I wont miss item decay
I wont miss standing in buff lines
I wont miss npcs inside walls
I wont miss being stuck in Kashyyk
I wont miss alpha class jedi ruining pvp
I wont miss tkms beating up stormtroopers
I wont miss the urban sprawl that was housing
I wont miss slaughtering pickets for xp
Good Riddance. Tor can't come soon enough.
Currently Playing: World of Warcraft
Don't think I ever had a problem with any of those things and I played from Release till NGE, I am starting to wonder if I missed the whole game? :S
Pretty sure thats some thick sarcasm.
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
Thing is they were things that were great but broken and needed tweaking abit. The problem with SWTOR is you just wont miss the game, it is very generic and people will play it for the first month or two and then leave and it'll never get remembered. At least SWG will be remembered for all the innovating things it done with its mechanics.
- Broken professions needed to be balanced, yet SOE never bothere fixing them as they focused on Jedi all the time. However at least it had that amazing profession system, rather have that with it's flaws than boring linear classes.
- Decay is great for the economy in game and means you'll never have one item forever, you'll have to keep playing to keep your character on top. However again decay was too fast and they needed to patch it to be slower.
- The buff system was a great idea because it meant players could play passive classes like Doctor and Entertainer and it meant you needed downtime. However again it was broken and needed fixing because buffs got too strong as people found out how to exploit them.
- The next two are bugs and are easy fixes but it's a product of SOE and not the game really, they just could never fix anything.
- Jedi system was based around permadeath, when they got rid of it because people whined, it unbalanced the class and made the OP.
- Don't see a problem with the last three things other than the game needed content that SOE never put in until after the CU and NGE.
I just think the game had so much potential and SOE's failures made sure they dragged the game down with them. SWTOR on the other hand has far less to offer, it will never be that online world we want to live, will just be an arcadey game.
