Future of l2 and what do you think?

demodardemodar Member UncommonPosts: 63

Hello , everyone i would like to post my impression of new f2p and innova also check how you guys like it and what do you think!

Well after few days on now innova what i saw first 20 lvl are crowded with people , gludio is even more full about 300 people like in the town but then you get to 40 lvl + you see how slowly how people getting fewer its still crowded by there less.

Next step is 50 lvl people are now only 50 -100 per area circle and in the at of 60 and 60 + you see about 20 people in the whole area.

With this description of how population fall we can all see like 70% of new people don't make it after 60 and now imagine if you let them see 85 after awakening ?

In my personal opinion as a player with about 7 years of lineage 2 (4 on offi and 3 on pri) , i think it was a big mistake to release lineage 2 with free to play and waste the chance to return the game to its former glory and population with the same slow grind.I know some of us like the game slow or slower atleast , but it doesn't really get the attention of new players that this game really needs .From about 12 friends which came back or started the game for first time only 1 left.

In conclusion i really think the game should be more western type less grind for exp but more for end game gear , because i personally don't  think this game will survive at this rate.

Sorry for epic post and any mistakes i made.

Please say what do you think of new free to play and goddess patch .

You should get back to the NCsoft F2P Lineage 2 - it's booming!  Servers full and indeed the grind upto lvl 75 has been all but removed.. In a week of playing i'm lvl 42...  Loving it too!

  • demodardemodar Member UncommonPosts: 63

Sadly what they did with the game was  cut the grind little bit till 75 , more or less painfull till 85 and after awakening you cant even get 0.01 from 20 mobs.

Its not really a matter of where you play its the thing that why all people left the game and why they made it f2p in first place .

They didn't fix anything or make it for more casual players and even i as  a hardcore player kind of want to play with my friends

Why would you play on Innova, I wonder? After considering the facts that:

-You need to install a new launcher/game

-You go on a site like eu.4game ...

-You don't have Path of the awakening

It feels like you're just playing on a private server where the skills are actually working.

Who told you there insn't awakening if we must speak about who has what russian innova servers had goddess for about 2-3 months before usa and eu . so your point is?

    Why play on innova?

Because they have working bot protection and things like a web based launcher make it even harder for bot programs to connect. If you enjoy automated PvP on ncsofts server than go ahead :) But yea, you guys just started and have no idea what awaits you there. If you want to win any  PvP battle expect to pay for a fancy premium zRanger sub.

NCsoft may have good looking websites, fancy free gifts etc. But they are definetly not as caring about the game as Innova is.  Thats from my experience on playing on Innova the last few days.

And the further you level the more spots become available... people dont play in one spot only. Currently lvl 60 on innova and every spot I go is crowded.

Coldices, you just described NA L2 servers as far as the leveling experience goes.

Stopping a bot program? Good luck. Now that the servers are free, it will be even easier to get bots to work due to the amount of people trying. I've seen bots working on Innova servers since the day they went into beta testing, and under two different bot programs.

How is the PvP automated? You cant win with a bot train.
  • ColdicesColdices Member Posts: 157
I guess you are not experienced with the PvP on the NA servers? With a castle siege, for example, go to a castle where a few big factor clans are fighting it out. Just go to the battlefield and only target a healer.... you will get instant nuked by enemy casters.

Im not talking about the grind bots, those are very simple. The PvP bots are much more complicated to deal with, they interfene with the data transfer between the server and the player. You will have stuff like a radar, alarm when an enemy is within X range, alarm when an enemy is targeting, giving you a notice IF anyone is targeting you, anti-backstab,force target lock, much much more.

Ah, okay, you are speaking more on the 'tool' programs. They were rampant on private servers, but I haven't seen that much on NA.. Then again, I played OB-C4 on retail and aside from exp bots, program using wasn't wide spread.

I have a love/hate relationship with L2. Ive quit the game many times and swore id never return.

All i can say is, ive never thought the future of L2 looked brighter than what it does right now. And also, if SWTOR sucks, i will definitely be making a permanent home here again. Absolutely positively without a doubt. New servers opened a week ago.. get in while its fresh!! :)

I don't think L2 will go anywhere and this is coming from someone who used to love it and still does, somewhat.

The GoD expansion has more bugs than the game had at release. The new features were rushed and mostly unfinished. The new servers are overloaded and laggy. They destroyed the Karma system along with just about every other oldschool feature I used to like. TOR is next week and Lineage 3 (eternal) is next year/early 2013.

GoD is the NGE of Lineage 2. Yeah I don't see this one going too far.

It's only overcrowded because it's free and people don't know what they're getting themselves into.

Also there's only 3 new servers (2 in US, 1 in EU) that's like what 15k simultaneous players? Nothing to boast about.

I tried to get into L2 a few years ago, but I'm just not a solo grinder.  This new model makes it easier for players to get to the top and experience the game.  By that I mean castle siege and competitive pvp.

I've heard the grind from 85+ is still much like the original lineage 2, but would you rather see the game go the way of the original lineage in the West or have NCsoft give it a chance to thrive again and have competitive pvp.

It really is a great game, once you give it a chance, and grinding a long side your fellow clan mates can make for some fun conversation, but like you said the release of new mmos threatens its survival; NCsoft made the right move.

At 85 I get twice as much xp as I was getting pre 85. I dont know how long this will last but I am really enjoying how much xp I am getting now. The new xp grounds makes places ike Giants Cave, Monastary Of Silence and Antharas Lair look like nonthing.

I love it so far; my only real complaint would be lag in gludio and too many people spamming in portugese in chat (maybe a separate BRZ server?)

I also think the stuff in the cash shop is pretty reasonable - i consider it the second best ftp model i've seen - second only to the turbine ddo/lotro model.

you don't need the cash shop stuff and in fact the actual weapons you can get from the cash shop are middle of the road weapons rather than elite ones.  I have spent 20 bucks in n coin so far and still have 400 of the 1600 that the 20 bucks bought me.  Ifeel no need at all to spend more and i doubt i will until i decide to do an alt.

i only wish i would have waited til today to make my character because now there's a server called bartz :S

How is Lotro and DDO cash shop better when they restrict content and make you either pay or earn tokens in game? In Lineage 2 you dont have to do either. All content is given to everybody and you dont have to pay or earn anything in game.

Just tried this game out and I love it! I have tried other f2p games like AoC, LOTRO, but couldn't get into them. This game just makes me feel rite at home, not sure why I never tried this game...

Day 4 of my return to L2. Still enjoying it, lvl 43 and got some great new skills when I did my 2nd class switch to Tyrant. And I still love the graphics after all these years.

As a F2P it is a fun game to mess around with and explore the world.

With f2p and GoD, l2 will be one of the most played games. And even if it doesnt have lot of players, graphics, sounds and gameplay are the bests.
