is right around the corner i was wondering what everyones general impression of the game is i just pre-ordered and looked alot into it, im a bit upset to hear its alot like WoW

How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more

The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
The voice acting and storyline stuff is really good. The combat is just as bad as WoW, complete with tab targetting and mind numbing hotkey usage. You can auto resurrect yourself when you die, right on the spot you died. It makes this game pretty horrifically easy.

I will play no more MMORPGs until somethign good comes out!
When people say it is like wow, they mean that gameplay is similar to MMOs we have today not that it is a straight rip off of it. The voice acting and story actually do differentiate the game quite a bit but if your burned out on current MMOs, the similar overall gameplay might turn you off.

People said the exact same things about Darkfall before it launched. And it was criticised too after it was launched, and it's launch was pretty awful tbh. (not as bad as vanguard though) And now it is doing quite well. If a game company can make a somewhat playable FFA PVP full loot sandbox then it will find an audience because so many game companies ignore the genre.
Lag/Desync issues: easy fix. Especially with a new server at launch Boring combat? Combat is never boring in an FFA full loot pvp game, due to adhrenaline. Animations? LOL. Lack of content? Um no. it's a pvp game, there is plenty of "content" to follow around and murder.
Wait and see. I have a good feeling about this game.

Yeah, it's a lot like WoW. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on whether you like WoW. But if you don't, then you may want to see if you can cancel that pre-order.
You mean that it's 7 years old and stale? I think you heard wrong. It hasn't been released yet.
I heard it was an MMORPG... you level, you grind, you craft, you kill, you get killed. I'm shocked that anyone would even think it was anything like WoW.

well listen to me i dont listen to the hype, thats why i preordered it i watched alot of videos and it seems like it can be fun. i been waiting so long for a new mmo thats why i ordered it.
It being like WoW isnt neccesarily a bad thing i mean WoW is succesful for many reasons, so i just hope this game took most of the good ones. I dont understand why people compare everything to WoW i guess because most people actually played it before and can have some time of understanding to what there getting into.
Someone posted that you do rezz instantly which kinda looks stupid even in PVP no real penalty to death. I mean the game doesnt look perfect but it does look like abreath of fresh air to me. I did look at the game alot but i was just curious to hear other peoples like and dislikes!
Trying to decide between BH and or Sith Marauder... Dual pistols is sexy, but how can you play a starwars game without a lightsaber??
As for the WoW thing, it's called SRC. Look it up - As someone that hasn't cared for WoW in years, the correlation isn't really there for me. It's like a themepark game, not like WoW...
