I really hope that people will get that this is a sarcastic, tongue in the cheek article.

I still do what i got to do i beat it i may go back later for other things but my life isnt consumed by it in fact im buying other games why this article was written i have no idea.

    Face, meet palm.

The article is supposed to be tongue in cheek.

The Capt.Picard "Double Face Palm" needs to apply?

But... but... there's no smileys or huge words of "HUMOR" in bold with [brackets] in the article.

As for Skyrim's sales, I'm not sure if Bethesda was anticipating these kinds of numbers.  It's probably sold more than any of their previous titles combined.  Hopefully this gives them alot more momentum for the future and, crossing my fingers here, they don't forget what got them there to begin with.

Hopefully they don't do a BioWare on me.

"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." So true. There's so many games lately that barely break the two digit mark for playable hours, if even that, yet still cost $50+ dollars.

i was retired from single player games for years, only playing the assassins creed franchise until Skyrim came out. All i can say is i wont buy a single player game for $50-$60 dollars ever again, unless its better than Skyrim.... It has set my standards in single player games.

This. Add to the fact that you also technically have bought the construction kit. It's a worthy price for your game purchase.

That's economic bullshit. If it were true, ALL entertainment would be counter-productive. What the author forgot is that the gaming industry leads to many more jobs- the producing of the CD's, the actual software-craft, the delivery and subsequent selling are ALL benefits to the economy. Although the resources that went to the game could have been put towards innumerable other lines of production, they DIDN'T. Why? Because the free-market (not that we have one very much nowadays) designates resources where they are most apt to satisfy the wants and needs of the public, and most effieciently at that.

If we wanna raise production, why not just make all forms of entertainment illegal?

Also, before you all jump and shout RAGE! keep in mind that some people actually believe this crap, so it's important to point out why it's a falsehood.

The answer is 42 you idiot!

    Agree.

Yeah just quite clever sponsored article :)

Ofc article itself is BS, but well since it stirred hornet nest a little and provoked discussion then it served it's purpose :)

Not to mention if anyone would like to seriously follow games imapct on economy, there are games that people are spending far more time with.  Most mmorpg's - games like i.e. WoW are massive time sink, with grinding all this medallions for gear, etc :)

Anyway someone at marketting department did a good job :)
