Hey all, Im going to start playing again and had a question to ask. When i first started playing, all i did for the first 12 levels was delivery boy and such, and it really burned me out. Then i hit lvl 12 and the exp basically went to nilch. I quit the game and went to WoW, but ive leveled a few character fairly high and am burned out on that.
My question is, is how can i avoid doing delivery quests over and over? I just started a new char and have him at lvl 10, and just want to know what zones i should be going to etc.. Is there a way to find quests that i can actually go out and kill enemies and get decent xp, instead of the delivery stuff?
Also had a question. In WoW, one thing i liked where the instances. How are the instances in EQ2 done? And can you have HUGE raid groups for exremely challenging ones?
Just to add im in Qeynos.
Thanks for any replies.

You just have to look around for quests. Recently they added quite a few solo quests and quests for small groups. Your best bet for xp is still going to be grouping though soloing (especially at your level) is pretty damn easy as well. What's cool is now small groups are getting great xp in the game. This means you dont have to sit around for a six man group anymore.
Antonica is probably where you're supposed to be as of now. Just have fun and find a few small groups and you should be good to go.
You can do kill quests in the questing areas on Qeynos itself for a few levels at least (Oakmyst Forest, Forest Ruins, Peat Bog and in the Down Below) ... there are a lot of creatures in there that give EXP for level 10. You can also go to Antonica, but you'll find a lot of creatures there once you get just a little bit away from Qeynos, will be very hard solo at level 10. The quests for these areas, including Antonica for your level, begin in Qeynos for the most part.
Also don't throw away the delivery quests either. You can get gear as rewards from them and also build up the cash as well as exp.
If you got burned out that quickly on both games, perhaps you need a new genre.

Yup, im starting to think that also. Or at least i might want to take a break for a while from playing MMORPG's. I tried to start WWIIO, but its been almost a week since i e-mailed their tech support, and I still havent recieved a reply, so cant play that right now.
Hopefully I start to like EQ2. If not looks like ill be taking an MMORPG break.
I can't figure out how and why you did delivery quests over and over in the first place. Considering that it's almost impossible to go through a zone without tripping over quests at every turn, it baffles me how any semi-conscious person could possibly fail to find kill quests, as well as all the other varieties.
But here's just one idea ... if you don't want to do delivery quests and you get offered one, turn it down
Have you tried grouping? Yes the quests can be overwhelming, you don't have to do them all though. You have the choice of declining them and even deleting them after you get them, it doesn't count against you. There are alot of quests, and many are not delivery types, honestly I still do the delivery ones at level 21 though, just so I can see all the quests in the game.
Get in some groups, do some group quests, if you just sit and solo everything thats solo'able your gonna burn yourself out fast. If your not that high yet, restart on lavastorm, you can always message me and we can go do something. My highest is only level 21, so it wouldn't take you long til your groupable with me.

One big problem is EQ2 tried to bring back the spirit of curosity, exploration and adventure. This was what the original mmorpg crowd from the late 90s were into.
But what was a majority is now a minority.
CASE A-Take same ghoulbane quest. In my guild everyone sold their reward stone for delivery when the npc says something like it may be of some use or something along the line.Anyhow she says enough to actually tell you just examine the damn stone at least.Which further the quest.
Nope they just had to rush on to next quest without even bothering to listen to the npc looking for the uber loot and exp.
Nowadays all mmorpg including EQ2 have like an idiot sign on it.Gone are days like in EQ1 you gasp actually had to use your brain and figure out where an npc was, what he wants ,what to say to him.
Now there is a marker to go to npc, some even put a great big question mark over their head like WoW,all you got to do is click a text, you get told exactly where to go and what to do or kill.
Simple task like just listening to what the npc said and examining an item is too hard for most because it was NOT in quest journal.
CASE B-Nek castle.I have taken same people down there like 6 times(it contains 3 heritages that start or are part of there).I explain the story line of the castle to this same people because once you understand the story arc you know what to do to get from start to killing the lord aka boss.It has many locked doors and sub quest to get to lord.
But I swear each time its like i am carrying the folks in for the first time.Completely lost .Reason
1)It sounds like i am boring them with the story. All they want is to have their hands held get to boss and get uber quest done and go bash undead with their ghoulbane and get more uber loot/exp.
2)Again simple task of figuring out who you need to kill to get which key to which door and just even figuring out which door it is(hey i showed this same folks like 10 times the doors!) is too much. Why?Again same reason -hold their hands to uber loot/exp syndrome.
I think the mentality of mmorpg has definetly gone astray.Maybe this why in all mmorpg i seen it is still old time guilds that are top of the food chain and when they move to new mmorpg again they dominate it.
