Sold my toons on craigslist. Made some cash. Had a good run with 7 years playing. This MMO was the best MMO I ever played since UO. Now it's time I say good bye and move on. I been playing The Old Republic and haven't felt this good or had this amount of fin ince the Molten Core days. Good bye WoW. I just uninstalled you today and the ran a defrag. You did make me 1500 bucks though. Ok, now to go baack to my Sith Sorc and kill some Jedi poodoo!

Well since you played for 7 years you paid $1259.16 at $14.99 a month in sub fews. So in actuality you only made $240.84 from craigslist. You would have had to sell your stuff for $2759.16 to make $1500. If you did that is insane not that baying virtual items for $1500 isn't. Just wanted to clear that up. Anyways, enjoy your new game.
High Five FTW!
My friend feels the same way. He messaged me the other night saying how he downed deathwing in a lfr group.
He feels like it's been a fun ride but now he feels it's time lay it down and call it a day. He uninstalled it but didn't sell his toons.
Rag/Nef defeated, Illiaden, Arthas, and now Deathwing. All epic, all down, all done.
He is not wanting to play MoP.
I gave up WoW as a regular player about 3 years back but I've always returned for a few months each year .I beta tested TOR and loved it so will be playing that in the new year when my month on Rift runs out . Between these two games and the MOP expansion which for me is a complete turn off I no longer feel any desire to return to WoW .
I gave up wow 2 months after it was released and never went back, did not like that game at all.
I gave up WoW 2 years ago after playing for quite some time. I've tried playing a number of mmos since and they've never stuck. The more general reason is they just feel too similar to WoW. I'll never understand how someone can quit a game to play another game that is very similar.
I played the "beta" for SWTOR and I just felt like "oh man this stuff again?" I dunno maybe I played WoW for to long and i'm just burnt out on mmos in general because of it.
Regardless, the point of the post was i'll never understand how someone can quit WoW and jump into a game very similar and still not quit after a month or so.
suppose i got lucky in a sense..left wow 4yrs ago or over that..went to lotro and never looked back..suppose i,m lucky when it comes to the money side..i am a lifer with lotro say layout goes has far as ex pks..i did play beta in swtor and me and my m8 really enjoyed it.i say gl to you ..hope you enjoy your new game.
The star wars game looks to me just like another "go kill 10 of this and report". Guess Im also burned out on mmo's. My next game has to be confirmed as something spectacular before I even try it. The game industry realy has to find out something new that is not only about the standard fighting with different skills and fantasy races.
Nowdays most important thing in mmo's is the people you learn to know during your first month's or so.
If you group up with people who you like and even build a guild with those then most games are fun.
Your game never gets better than the player comunity, not nowdays anyway since you are sooooo depending on other players.
PLease let us know where you are in 6 months. You may regret the sale.
Raed this Uninstalled the game. Wasn't playing for a long 5 month now. But keep it, It was always at the top of my desktop. Bye Bye WoW txs for reminding me that you now sell all the games for what one almost payed for the WoW classic 7 years ago. Not even a 2 month free txs game time.
Just got my lightsaber from my Sith master. Got my ship from her also. And yess would love to have some Jedi robes bloddied on the walls of my ship.
Awsome great experience this game of TOR. It felt as good as when played WoW for the first time.
Join the Empire or Die for the Republic.
WoW as we knew it, is dead.
And Activision killed it.
There is no going back, there is nothing to go back to but a chat room/lobby full of teenage filth.
Bye WoW, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
And take Chuck Norris and Mr. T with you!
I'm not sure how long I'll play SWTOR, but I do know that it will be harder to have fun leveling in other MMOs after the experience.
I've only subscribed to WOW for two or three months this year and MoP is a total turnoff to me. I don't see them announcing anything to get me back for that expansion.
I'm hoping that Blizzard will up their game and have a followup expansion that shows they are willing to put $ back into the game. They seem to use the same or smaller budget as they had when the population was much smaller. They may just keep the status quo and try to adjust Titan to really grab the market.
It's too bad that Blizzard couldn't remain an independent company all of these years. I think the corporate greed has allowed them to slip on quality and game design.
