Romance options

in Star Wars: The Old Republic

Just a quick question on romance options I haven't really sunk my teeth into the whole game since i have alt-syndrome. I am however curious as to how romances work are they restricted to companion only or are there other characters throughtout each story arch that can be romancable as well that aren't companions such as Jaxo from the Trooper arch.

    There are other NPCs that can be romanced in the world.
