Looks like the community got it's wish and Talwin has been replaced:

Talwin is now listed as a "Community Advisor" on the website and is not even mentioned in the announcement.
Happy New Year!!

Given the previous experince with SV, I am sceptic to this Asakuro guy being a new mod, probably someone old returning under a new name since it would be weird to introduce a completely new person as lead community manager.
Or perhaps they just created new accounts with the same people behind it. Wouldn't surprise me either.
Like St.Judas?
Perhaps... but I think Talwin was actually removed. I'm sure the new guy is actually an old guy with a new name, but I do not think it's Talwin.

Ahh, let the conspiracies flow. I actually think it could be all new people. They are after new interested people all the time. If you want the job then send in a application. http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/69864-moderators-wanted.html
Shrug.. it's not a conspiracy, I know for fact people returning under new names, question is if it so in this case or not.
And what is the point in debating this? We can only speculate, and in the end, what difference does it make? I think this whole thread is meaningless. "Ohh, I think it´s Talwin under a new name, I think it´s returning players under new name, I actually think it´s new players, I think it Santa Clause etc". Who cares!?!? Well, some here apperantly...
You of all seems to be the one caring most, jumping each chance to point out "who cares" every time
Yeh, before this he was lead manager of baking cookies:P

lol. Finally someone with a reply deserving of this thread. Case closed.
You know pretty well what that is. That's you telling someone to move on, then claiming you never told anyone to move on.
Why is it that I am somehow the topic of conversation in this thread?
It's a simple thread:
1. The community hated the moderation.. they even were putting up polls asking for Talwin's removal
2. StarVault has replaced Talwin
Please feel free to discuss this change, the reasons behind it, and what it might mean for the future. Let's try and do so without mentioning me and/or why people post in forums. If you do not have anything to add to the discussion or feel that the topic is not worthy of discussion feel free to just skip the thread. Thanks!

Here I actually agree with you. And yes Talwin wasn´t popular and has now been replaced. But whom this person might be etc is meaningless to speculate in, and only time will tell how well recived he and the others will be. So I guess we´ll have to put the thread on ice til then.
Since when are you a moderator on mmorpg.com?
This is a forum. If you can't stand people speculating and discussing, stop reading and commenting. It's not up to you whether a thread should be "put on ice" or not.
this
Since never. I didn´t say I can´t stand people speculating and discussing, I said I thought this thread was meaningless cause we don´t know who it is etc. And my "put on ice" was a reply to Slappy about what it would mean for the future. I know I can´t see into the future and say how they will do. But if you guys can, then go ahead. And please tell me as well. Cause I´m eager to find out.
Anyway, seems the new head mods are still in preschool, or perhaps they're simply so unfamiliar with the English language that they should go back to just playing the game and writing some funny Engrish in the local chat.
Seriously, anyone making basic spelling mistakes like "All 3 of these individual’s still serve the basic moderator needs" and "Human Relation’s" in an official post should not be allowed any official duties at all.
Still, I'm not surprised. After all this is the game were there are serious typos everywhere - even in the TOS if I remember correctly...
We can´t all be native english writers. And I personally couldn´t care less for those silly typos, cause I still get what they are saying. Yes, they could use some spellcheck program or whatever. But I don´t do it myself. And as long as the message come through I´m cool with it. But some here sure like to pick on the smallest of things. Amazing.
I am just glad Talwin is not a part of it anymore. I am also hoping they just did not rename him. He ruled the forums with his battered ego. If he did not like you in game or if you talked trash to him as Sindas you were marked to be banned from IRC of the fourms.
I do not think anything in the TOS was mispelled, remember they ripped it off from EVE and we all know they are light years ahead of SV.
Well, if we are to be picky, that's grammar mistakes, not spelling? But imho it is understandable that voluntery mods can't have perfect english.
Toferio guess what!?!? We agree on something!!!
Well, I'm the kind of guy who expects a professional behaviour from the representatives of a company that is receiving my money - be they volunteers or not. Correct English may not be essential, but it certainly looks more professional than basic spelling/grammar "mistake's". I'm not a native English speaker myself, but if I worked for a company using English in their customer relations, I sure as hell would try my best to handle the language properly.
Besides, given the history of heavy censoring on the MOFO, I would not be surprised if these new (?) mods kept working in the tradition established by Talwin and his buddies. And to me, getting randomly reprimanded or banned by some 18 year-old who can't even write proper English is adding insult to injury. Since the whole game is crawling with typos and Swenglish improvisations, it would at least be nice to have mods able to express themselves properly when dealing with the international community.
As for the TOS, the "EvE" typo is pretty amusing. The whole text is devoid of typos, since SV didn't write it themselves. But they still managed to fuck up when it came to the one word they had to write themselves - that is, the name of their own game. It speaks volumes, really...
Lol really, making a big deal out of some typos.
I think this itself says a lot about MO. Screw gameplay, forums and IRC is where it's at and is the most important feature of MO. Why? 'Cause that's the only place you'll find a "large population".
Am I coming from a different angle here about MO that has not been looked at in the past? The game itself is always being criticized by non subscribers but even subscribers make the biggest deal of the forums and IRC. We're not talking a couple people, we're talking like probably 90% of the game population. Every MMO is going to have its complaints about the forums, the moderators but it's usually not something that is as big of a debate and problem as it is for this game.
Just throwing that out there.
You do have a point, but you also have to remember that the SV forum/irc staff has earned a very bad rep for a reason. The community managers have been pretty bad, the mods even worse, the GMs are a joke and the overall feeling on the forums is that you either post "constructive" posts (i.e. praise the game), or GTFO.
Given the serious problems that MO has faced since day one, no wonder that the censoring and corruptness of the staff becomes a drama in itself. If the game was running properly and the playerbase was content, people wouldn't mind too much if some mods behaved oddly. But if you get warned, banned and see your posts disappear every time you try to discuss the issues tou are experiencing, you'll become very critical of the way things are handled.
No, you care most.
