I have grouped more in this MMO than I have in most of the recent MMOs in the last few years, so to me the game is very group friendly and actually encourages it. Also I have never seen any rude or barrens type chat on my server, People have actually been very friendly and helpfull. I must have chose the only good server I guess lol.
Just so you are aware, the "i've never seen it happen so it doesn't happen" excuse doesn't work.
Realy? Where in my post did I say that I have not seen it so it never happened lol. I said I have not experienced it on my server and I must have been lucky and picked a good one. Please get some reading comprehension and also don't make assumptions, they rarely pay off lol.
And where in my post did I accuse you of doing it? I just said for you to be aware of the fact. Maybe it is you who needs reading comprehension. It's not good to try and point out something when you fail in doing so yourself. lol
Did you read your own post? You quoted me directly therefore you were speaking to me and saying that's what I was doing. Also what was there was to fail about? You called me out and I answered you lol.
I read my post but apparently you didn't. I quoted you and made a statement to be aware of a fact. I never accused you of such and so you assumed that I did which made you jump to a conclusion and fail. The fact that I need to explain it to you just shows how lacking your are in thought. Maybe next time you should think before typing instead of find unessessary times to add lol to your posts.
If you've read your posts and don't see what I am saying then it's pointless to keep bickering with you. I won't keep doing this with you as it is pointless and just clutters up the forums. Have a good one and I really mean that.
I see what you're saying, I am just saying that you are wrong. KTHXBAI!
E-Hug it out before mmorpg.com runs outta bandwith.
Sorry, with all due respect but: you played for 3 days and already know about PVP and crafting enough to rate? Hm.
Well you can que up for warzones at level 10 and Illum isnt anything but a glorified warzone....what am i missing?
Pretty much felt the exact same way on just about all your ratings, Crafting was the high point for me also, Community sucked pretty bad on WTF (server) also unless you find WOW and Arrow to the knee jokes funny..it just came to a point where i switched channels to guild despite needing to get grps for flashpoints...
Illum is for lvl 50's unless you reached Illum in 3 days i have no reason to take you seriously. I can also give my review without even playing the game, just have to copy paste all the whine posts on these forums.

Why? explain yourself.
If it needs to be explained to you then you seriously need to go back to school.
OK I put my question in simpler terms "Why do you say that when he never mentioned that it did not exist he just hadn't seen it on his server?" that better OH! and thanks for the nice comment I must remember to be so impolite next time someone asks a question, a "what do mean" would have serviced.

Actually, that wasn't putting your question in simpler terms. It was actually making it a legitamate question that means something completely different then asking just simply "why?". Maybe if you explain yourself better in the future instead of seeming like a simpleton that doesn't understand basic logic you would get less impolite responses.

i got to about lvl 25ish to 29ish in my time spent but excuse me for not being exact it was all so forgettable and if it sounds like whining dont read or better yet dont comment...
1. Pvp - 3/10 - Probably the worst MMO pvp I've ever seen really. Open World pvp is nonexistent (even on a overloaded server) except on one planet (designed for pvp) in which the pvp there is completely broken and only so you can do your daily objectives. The pvp games themselves (battlegrounds) are laggy, and the response time for actions is terrible. You may attempt to throw the ball to your teammate only to have it be thrown to no one because by the time the action responded the person had moved. To top it all off there are no brackets, so level 10's fight lvl 50's. This isn't so bad because they do buff the level 10's to the level of 50 but they still miss out on skills and gear. Also, one of my favorite things to do in other mmo's was to max out my gear through crafting/selling/buying every last level per tier. So at level 19 I always liked to buy all the purple items I could, and go pvp my last level out to 20. Likewise for 29,39,49, etc... but this game destroys that "break from the grind".
2. Pve 5/10 - 5 points for the voice over acting/amazing quest line stuff. I like it a lot. The only problem is it does not reward grouping nor does it push grouping. It's linear quest lines cause you to not be able to group simply because it's annoying to have to catch someone up to the point where you are in the quest. Along those same lines, there's no benefit to grouping other than for the social aspects of the game. If they had made it beneficial to group, then they could have added a LFG system for the flashpoints which would have made the flashpoints 10x more fun and 10x less excersize in frustration. PvE itself is boring. Typically grinding to lvl 50 requires you to cycle between 3-5 skills over and over, and you get carpel tunnel because there's no auto attack and you have to actually physically hit the auto attack key if you want to get that "extra" attack in between cooldowns. Flashpoints in the later levels revolve around CC. This is an old school style of pve. Where you need to CC a creature (for a freakin minute long duration) and single out one creature at a time in a group. This is the most boring form of PvE there is on the planet. Why even bother with having five enemies and giving us cc abilities, why not just give us one really strong mob to fight? This just leads to a very boring, and tedious process to get through the filler in the dungeons. This game is very tedious. Your grind to lvl 50 will be full of tedious quests that require kill x amount of creatures, reach x objective on the map and activate it. Over and over. When will MMO developers realize that quality over quantity is better?
3. Community - the community is much akin to the barrens in WoW, or the general chat in Rift. It's just a bunch of random bigots/racist/ignorant fucks constantly commenting on tits, vaginas, gay people, black people, jews, you name it with the occasional question and answer, and a lot and I mean a lot of spamming for flash points and guild recruiting. Thank god there hasn't been any gold farmers yet!
4. Crafting 8/10 this is where the game shines in my opinion. Crafting no longer requires you to sit in one spot for hours on end grinding out the levels. Instead you get companions that you can send out (think the eve leveling system, skills over time) and it makes for a very easy and smooth transition into crafting that can be very rewarding. The best part about the system is that you can learn unique recipes by breaking down items (which can lead to you being one of the only people on the server with it) and on top of that you can crit when crafting that unique item, making an even better item. This gives a lot of unique feel to the crafting. In other games I hated how everyone made the same items, same quality, etc. Whoever designed this needs a raise. Minus two points for the idiot who thought slicing (money over time) was a good idea for a crafting skill.
5. Flying/space missions - 3/10 - really just a crappy version of star fox. The only reason I gave it 3 points is because it's the only pretty thing in this game. Graphics are nice here You do the missions once, you never look back and collect your exp and win.
6. Graphics - 5/10 - looks like someone took WoW and made it run maxed out on.... an original xbox. Really. The graphics are bad. So bad it's a joke. Not even because they don't have direct x 10/11 support or AA support... but because the art design for imperial agent/bounty hunter is a joke. My bounty hunter has looked like a trash can the entire fucking game.
Bottom line - Someone on this design team got some of their really brilliant ideas through, in fact I'm sure the team had a LOT of brilliant ideas. Unfortunately, as we all know.... EA is the devil and kills anything good. So what they probably did was say hey you need another year to make this the best MMO ever and polished to no end? Hell no. We release it TODAY BITCHES. We cash this cow in! Respect. So basically the game totally blows not worth 60 bucks wait for a free trial so you can play the single player aspect (questing) finish the story line and quit. The story is truely awesome

If any with this game is wrong(ive not played it so i cant judge)then its BIOWARES FAULT not EA im 100% sure that EA dont interfer with any design or developement discisions BIOWARE makes. EA can only push maybe some pressure release game to soon but there is no doub in my mind that BIOWARE had not enough time to make sure game is finished when launched.
Hope to build full AMD system RYZEN/VEGA/AM4!!!

Illum is for lvl 50's unless you reached Illum in 3 days i have no reason to take you seriously. I can also give my review without even playing the game, just have to copy paste all the whine posts on these forums.
And when he reaches level 50, plays Illum, only to have his observations confirmed, then what? He will be dismissed as a Troll or a Hater, regardless.
The 'have you actually played it' TOR defense is over. Fans were screaming that pre-release, and now post release, when critics concerns have been confirmed by playing it, they just get labled as QQers, Trolls and Haters now.
I like the game on its foundations, but I dislike that most of my pre-release concerns have been confirmed (despite the Fanpraise and 'have you played it' excuses). The game does not play any differently that I expected it would.
We have seen that there is no shocking surprise about TOR. Experienced gamers can look at the information out there, and construct a very accurate speculation of how the game would feel to them. If you have played other MMO's (like WoW) and played any of the BW single player RPGs, you can accurately guess 99% of how TOR plays -- with out ever having to actually play it.
4.8 Overall. I think as a mmorpg score, it might be in the right ballpark as we play more of the game. For me, Im at mid-game; level 26; perhaps a level that a more casual player would take a month or month and a half to get to. Perhaps there is an upward +1 or +2 point, but not much higher for an advertised massively-multiplayer subscription-based mmo; the mmo community-centric content and features of which are sparse to say the least.
Personally I have not had to group where-as the game-play in TOR is heavily Single-Player RPG-ish. I've found that in this game community-centric and based game-play doesn't matter. The game consists of a series of Star Wars The Clone Wars mini games that are like those I would play to pass the time on my Android phone.
So in addition, some of my thoughts are,
- The importance of Community-driven and incentivised Crafting and Merchandising doesn't matter as in this game, blue, and rare item drops from non-elite mobs and elite mobs drop at an astounding rate, deminishing the value of community-centricity and value of crafting and merchandising. So this where I would disagree on the importance of Crafting, rather than the mechanism for it. The importance of it upwards to mid-game is demeaning and non-existent, but an interesting mini-game. 5/10.
- There is no purpose or value placed on factional worldly influence; there's absolutely nothing available in game-play that encourages persistent, motivating, meaningful or rewarding factional community-centric game-play at this level. Again, plays as what it is; a very heavily instanced and statically linear single-player rpg. So for massively-multiplayer factional community-centric purpose, risk, reward and something that matters for Empire vs Republic, for upwards to mid-game, factional open-world and/or dynamic event-related game-play that motivates or drives one faction to have something of game-play purpose against the opposing faction with risks for loss and substantial rewards for success is completely non-existent. The Warzones dont provide this because it is faction irrelevant. So 3/10 for something that should matter, but which doesn't by mid-game; dynamic worldly influential massively-multiplayer faction vs faction game-play.

3 days playing time. Almost four. I'm lvl 50 powertech (Wish I had rolled a dps for quicker leveling, ugghh)
Oh another annoying thing - every time you go to a new planet you have to get off your ship (loading screen) then go down the hangar (loading screen) then transport to where you need to go (waiting on scooter). Every single time you go to a new planet. So about 5 minutes of your time wasted every time a quest sends you to a new planet.
Enjoy getting to lvl 50 and doing flashpoints only to not be able to loot the bosses. Also enjoy spending all your time at level 50 playing the same battlegrounds you played at level 10.
Sorry, with all due respect but: you played for 3 days and already know about PVP and crafting enough to rate? Hm.
Well, people decided in 20 hours that this was the best MMO ever. The SW fans greeted those reviews with glowing enthusiasm. Why should the OP's experiences or posts be any different just because his opinion is not the most favourable one?
"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
It seems from the OP's posts in this thread that he has played it for 72+ hours, not that he bought it 3 days ago and has played it a few times between then and now.
