I can agree with this. I would put it in the 8 range myself. Perhaps not in the high 8s but 8 none the less. There are several things that need work but I think for the most part they have created an excellent game.
If you played TOR through its storyline, it quickly becomes a 1...
So, after a month or two, no one in their right mind would have any real desire or passion to log on their "main" anymore,, unless your two boxing and plan on power leveling another class. :P

Game is ACTUALLY a 6.4

I agree with the points made in the review, from an observer having watched many videos. But from the points themselves I feel some categories have been given an inflated rating.
Asthetics, 9/10 even when they admit themselves you can't configure the UI and the game isn't visually stunning but still does well through it's art style. I agree that the art style is nice but surely with a static UI and not state of the art graphics this should of been a 7?
Gameplay, 9/10. Again they admit it's repetitive but on steroids for higher levels and nothing else is anything innovative and is missing quiet a few features. Again it doesn't sound like it should of been a 9/10 maybe a 7 tops.
The game is probably around a 7.5-8 overall but I havn't played. I won't be buying myself, bored of the standard MMO model.
Oh boy. Cue the "This site's review is paid for " whines...
And yes, I agree with the review for the most part. Only thing I disagree with is the crafting. Yes it's fun to do, but it's too expensive and mostly pointless unless you are a bio-chem or cybertech.
I was ready to throw "Moron of The Year Award" at the reviewer, when I suddenly realised: these days MMORPGs just simply suck so much ass that even a POS like SWTOR actually deserves this high rating when comparing to other POS MMOs on the market.
Eh you might be both, DA2 was easly in the 80s. Just because it's not a copy of the first doesn't make it bad. It's a great game with 10x the content of most games released these days, and the combat alone is fun as hell.
Yeah, I trust Metacritic's averaged user reviews a lot more than the professional reviews. Professional reviews rate almost everything good, for whatever reason. It's like, as long as the game works ok, it defaults to a 7. If its any fun at all, they add points from there. Makes the numerical scale almost useless.
I think its because they try to be unbiased, but everyone is biased. Professional reviewers look at game after game, and even if they're bored by it, they don't want to risk rating it lower than a 7, just because they're feeling burned out, or whatever. OTOH, if they're a fan of the game, they won't see any problem rating it too highly.
User reviews, OTOH, take all sorts of biases into account. Some people are haters, some are fanbois, and when you average it all out, you get something a lot closer to the real story.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
"What sets “Crew Skills” apart from your typical crafting experience is the fact that the system is entirely time based and isn’t actually done by the player character"
I don't really see the fun in having AI do it for you. Is the review leaving something out here? Seems more like it's a minigame rather than crafting. I guess if they're going to have a boring crafting system it might as well be automated, though.
Doesn't seem like this should be a pro to me at all. More like a wash.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and tastes. But if you think DA2 was worth a score in the 80s then you set the bar pretty low.
And I would rather look at user reviews than so called Professional ones. Seems like even very poorly done games get great reviews. If it launches when you press play that warrents a 7 nowdays.

Yeah. DA2 was a disgrace. Seriously worst game I played in like last 3-4 years. Combat fun? If you like anime-like things and mage making kung-fu moves while casting a spell then yeah.
Not to mention that this game has SO much filler combat I was throwing out after 2 hours like "noooo I got attacked AGAIN!".
DA1 had way too much combat but DA2 was ridiculous with that and even when I take into account that BW always made their games quite combat heavy...
Imo Metacritic user reviews were quite ok for DA2.
BUT
I use whole scale (0-10) and not like reviewers do (7-10).

Agreed.
I was surprised with that listed as game positive.
It is more like game 'con' imo. Neutral thing at best (but that's stretching it). Deffo not a plus...

Nice. That's very close to its rating on metacritic (87).

As a single player RPG I'd rate it a 8.5
As a MMORPG I'd rate it a 3.5
Combine those ratings together and you have a:
6.0
The game deserves no higher than a 6..
If you played TOR through its storyline, it quickly becomes a 1...

Couldn't have just used the official thread like everyone else?
Score is too low.. should be a 9.5
Why do you hate the game so much?

lmao... -5/10
I agree with the review pretty much 100%... although my personal review is slightly lower. This is a great game and I am enjoying myself thoroughly.

Crew skills are probably the worst way that i've seen crafting handled in any MMO, ever.
