Recently Mortal Online had a question and answer session with the developers. One of the questions was "How will you make Mortal Online more like Skyrim?
Currently in my opinion Mortal Online is already a lot like Skyrim with it's vast view distances, and variety of weapons and armors you can use.
The developers stated that they were going to improve mob AI so it would be more intune with Skyrim's mob AI. Also nighttime in Mortal Online will be tweeked to look more like nighttime in Skyrim.
I think it's pretty cool. Mortal Online is the closest thing were going to get to an elderscrolls online and it looks like there trying to make it even more like Skyrim.
Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!

lol, well they failed at making an Ultima Online successor..... might as well shoot for something else. Now it's Skyrim! Next year they will try and make it more like Archage!.
Sorry, personally after these past few years I don't have confidence in the skill level of SV to pull anything remotely close to Skyrim Online off.
And no....... MO is nothing like Skyrim currently which is why there was such a big dip in the MO player base when Skyrim launched.
They were gonna make MO more like Skyrim, but they took an arrow to.......ughh you know what, I just can't do it. End the arrows to the knees people, think of the children....and their knees.
I was going to think of the children ...and their knees...... but then I took an arrow to the knee......
Please don't insult Skyrim by comparing it to MO. Devs can wish all they want, but it will remain empty wishes. The only things Skyrim and MO have in common are combat system and view distance, even when it comes to perspective Skyrim got third view.
If we gonna try and find a MMO as close to Skyrim as possible, it would be Darkfall. It too has monsters dropping what they are wearing and third person, so it scores some extra points there to get above MO.
I think the biggest difference is that Skyrim is a very good game and MO is... well...
Whatever mods, GMs and the CEO says in IRC, forums and vent isnt to be taken as facts. It isnt a 'promise' that MO will ever be even a fraction of a game that Skyrim is, even though the company's CEO, mods, devs, GMs, copy-paster fanboys etc may say that this game (MO) is now to be called Skyrim Online. So regardless of the fact that there trying to make it even more like Skyrim you shouldnt blindly buy into their dreams and hype since hype blowing a pebble to be considered a mountain is the job of game developers and CEOs and you will then be crushed that it was just a blatant lie so you...
Deathshroud do you want to take over from here? Im getting tired of repeating your words and Im sure you would do a better job at saying what you always say bout 'promised' features regarding MO's blind hype.
@username509: Completely off-topic here, but I dint get a chance to ask you this in a previous thread since it got locked before I could post a reply, but arent you the one who once said that the Dawn patch would bring in notes where players could write down crap and then be looted by enemies who...etc, etc? Looking how you inflate a small footnote into a hype thread of its own, it perfectly fits the M.O. (no pun intended) of someone who would say such fictional things bout the dawn patch in order to make MO look better than it is. I cba to snoop through posting history so help me out here will ya?
Sounds like desperation. Attempting to improve MO's profile by linking it to a proper game.
There's already a mod in testing for Skyrim that allows online play. That could be called Skyrim Online when it's complete, not a buggy and tiny game like MO.
I'm calling troll post on this one. Skyrim's AI is fucking terrible. Even at the toughest difficulty the mobs just have more HP they are not any smarter - the entire game is easymode.
Darkfall on the other hand has real mob AI, with a true variety of difficulties from very easy to extremely tough.
Dragons in Skyrim? What a joke. Dragons in Darkfall? Holy shit ruuuuuunnnnnn.
Bugs ruin this game ... sad that it has such a high potential , if i had $ i would invest in it ...
Sorry, but vast view distances and variety of weapons and armor have very little to do with the awesomeness of Skyrim. MO is missing everything that actually makes Skyrim a fun game.
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)

actually kudo's to anyone who can mention Skyrim and Mortal Online in the same sentence, and actually have them compare favourably.. not just with a straight face but without falling over laughing
I guess that's actually not a bad comparison, as in the grand scheme of things, pluto and the earth are pretty damn close... And in the mmo world, mo, while still being very very far away, is the closest thing to skyrim
But to say mo is turning into skyrim online, well... That's also gotta be a matter of perspective I guess, but I don't see it. I fall you go from is view distance and a (especially in the case of skyrim, mo i guess has more internal variety with different materials etc) waaay to small selection of armors and weapons, then i guess it's right.
On a totally different note, what do those stars under usernames here come from?
You are totally correct it is a matter of perception. Since Username's perception is MO has 20k subscribers I would think his perception is kinda skewed and that is being nice.
I wish there was an emoticon for "You just got scienced!!!"

this game could be 10 times better tehn Skyrim, and could blow most othter mmos out of the water with it's potetial but it will NEVER happen until:
combat is fixed. this has to be priority #1. it's a full loot pvp game ffs. it's what you end up doing 80% of the time, and it should be the most poilshed part of the game. prediction system is horrible, lag and preformace in large battles is abysmal. basic mechanics are all screwed up. it's riddled with bugs and glitches. until combat is smooth and responsive nobody will ever take this game seriously.
cheating/exploiting is dealth with: either fix the exploits or be incredibly severe with cheater and exploiters.
the majority of in game bugs are fixed: there are still so many bugs it stopped being funny a year ago. it's rediculous. if it was a F2p is one thing but in a subbed game.....just rediculous.
SV is replaced by a competent company. they simply aren't. dealing with SV is like dealing with a night club bouncer, best case scenario is your gonna get is a menacing scowl and no response.
It would be faster (and better) to build a multiplayer/massively multiplayer mod for Skyrim than to expect greatness from MO.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
The mod is already in beta and got more features then MO at release.
the mod shows 0 prgression over the oblivion multiplayer mod. if i took a wild guess i would say its just that converted to skyrim, theres a hell of alot of work to do yet.

the above is a link to the full interview with gm theia and gm discord over all the questions asked by the community. Can clearly here the skyrim part mentioned in the interview and it is nothing like whats being described really.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
lol easy answer: change the DEV.

The multiplayer mods in most games work out more like a proof of concept, rather than something that's going to reach release quality. It's probably because they are mostly personal projects and not professional projects, even if they are done by professional individuals.
I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that Mortal Online could reach Skyrim like greatness...there's just such a large gap between the two games.

I take it being Mortal Online doesn't work anymore? XD
Has it ever?
I don't think it will turn into Skyrim, because Skyrim is fun, and it works.
EXACTLY.
OP Don't you ever again mutter MO is like Skyrim ever again. Skyrim is fun and works. MO is boring and does not work. MO skill system will never let the game be fun. You can't play with any sand unless you buy a second account just to try out new sand because everything requires a whole new character to even try a new feature aka like fishing.
