Basically the way it will work is that there will be forums for groups of servers listed alphabetically. Each forum will be shared between a few servers, but they have asked that you preface your posts with [Server Name] when posting.
Each of these forums will have a Guild Recruitment sub-forum also.
What do you think? Is this sufficient for those of you that wanted server specific forums?

Why is it they never get anything quite right?
Lazy, lazy, lazy devs.
I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.
No forum search function? Damn they said a few days a few weeks ago.
Why would we need a server forum? That's something that would only be useful if there were a server community. This game doesn't require a community. You might even be penalized for stepping outside of your personal assigned cut scene.
Looks likke a good thing to me...I have no idea lmao.
This was an issue really?
I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.
I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

If only hyperbolic snarking carried a penalty.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
That's an really odd issue and then people are still displeased with it, guess that shows fixing issues hurt em more(sometimes).

Of course it's an issue. Server fourms are great for guild recrewing, recrewing for world bosses, selling epics, warning poeple about ninja d-bags, etc...
It's just a fourm, it doesn't take any real game devs to make or mantain. Also unless the forum system bioware uses is shit, the number of fourms doesn't really matter so why wouldn't you just have server fourms? Heck alot of MMOs have three forums per server(trade, guild recrew, and general) not three servers per fourm.

So...let me get this straight. They will have a single forum for a server "group" (I'm guessing maybe 5 servers), and when you post you are required to preface your topic with the name of your server...
Ummmm, yeah...
I just don't get why it's so hard to have a specific forum for each server. WoW does it and I'm sure they have a lot more servers than SWTOR.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
I don't see why this is even a thing. Pointless to me honestly.
Why don't they just make them individual forums? Its not that hard. Developers seem so out of touch with gamers today.
They are probably resisting server-specific forums because people will use the forum activity level to draw conclusions about server populations.
By keeping the servers grouped in big forum chunks, it becomes very difficult to gauge what's going on on specific servers by just looking at forum post counts.
WHat good does anything like this do before the population has settled? in two months there could only be 30-40 servers left, or even far less than that.

so they sort of delivered what the players asked for
like they sort of delivered an MMORPG
The good news is after the population numbers dwindle there may only be a couple of servers left in each section. EA/Bioware is just planning ahead.
LOL .
But seriously, I actually think it's even worse in that scenario.
If you have a single forum for each server, then if one dies, you just delete the forum...done.
But if you have "groups" of servers in each forum then you're inevitably going to run into issues where most of the servers in a few groups "die," but other groups still have all healthy servers. So at this point, they will probably want to "merge" the groups with the dead servers together. But this will be a major pain because now they have to tell the players that their forum is changing and why.
I seriously have no idea why they don't want to just make a forum per server. The only thing I can think of is that they purchased their forum solution from some vendor, and that vendor doesn't allow much customization or bases their licensing on the amount of forums you have.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
This says it all I think. There's no reason not to have server forums.
Ahh ok that's understandable then, that really does suck .

I don't know that that is really an issue TBH- as long as EA/Bioware treat server merges in the same way Trion has by allowing free transfers to better populated servers I don't know that the players who still enjoy the game will care either way. Even moreso if more personal/class storyline content is added because that is the meat of the game, period.
There are always doom and gloom threads about how the game is dying for any new release game and populations always tend to drop after the first month- it's inevitable for any game that uses so much advertisement and hype. The big thing is if they can keep making content for the people that enjoy the game but have exhausted the content rather than trying to capture those other players that they haven't yet (and wind up alienating what players they already have).
This Asian grind game must be stopped!!
It's Obamush's fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Given the aggressive use of server instancing, even servers that are listed as FULL have limited amounts of players in each instance. Everybody has a pretty smooth game.
So as an individual player, do you know how many instances are running on your server ? Would you notice if 90% of them ceased to exist ? It would have no effect at all on your game experience. If the server screen still said FULL or Heavy, how would you know if that was true ? Would it matter to your gameplay ?
I'd think server merges could be delayed for quite a while without impacting on players' game experience. Server merges are usually bad PR for any game.
It has nothing to do with lazy. Probably has nothing to do with the Developers.
EA doesn't want to spend the money. Probably cuts into their profits.

Probably something like this, I don't know how people can think it would be "TOR devs" creating anything on the website though lol.

Meh. They could have just created a 'Guild Recruitment' forum, and told you to use a drop down for the server name or something like that.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
