I havent really been following either since the announced they were working on TSW.  Is there a general idea of a release date for either?

Why are we all done hating on SWTOR and now we all need another game to start tearing apart after launch?  It seems most are done hating Rift and have moved on to SWTOR so ya maybe its time to line another game up in the haters cross hairs.

Ease down, Ripley.  You're just grinding metal.

    Must have rolled dark side.

Tera will be the next I believe.

I Think Tera will surprise people a little i got a chance to play some korean version and its quiet fun even though i only played up to lvl 4 the mobs were diverse and crazy :D. I do admit people will call it a grinder and bitch about it being asian looking, oh and cant forget the over abundance of big melons being cover with strings and tissue. I think tera will hold a healthy sub number for a few years atleast till Archage hits.

I can't think of a hetero male who would complain about that.

I don't know tbh. 2012 is shaping up to be a truly interesting year.
I wasn't expecting Titanic part two but it's looking more and more that way.

So I'm left with two possible heavy hitters. I would say GW2 and ArcheAge but AA doesn't even have a Western publisher. So will they do it themselves? If so, 2013 release.

GW2 will be next biggest themepark MMO.
    Bookmark this for later.

    TSW? Don't make me laugh.

Well, How about a sleeper? Like Reckoning - the next game that company is making is supposadly a full blown MMO (With Reckoning as a kind of prelude- introduction to the game world) and if that team is doing an MMO, I would be excited. A Story driven action MMO? Kind of a cross between SWTOR and TERA. Written by the guy who made Drizzt and the desinger of Obliviion? Nerdgasming now...

    Guild Wars 2 I'd say.

Guild wars 1 was already a big succes and Guild Wars 2 has so many new and cool features.

If we are talking about games in general then each genre seems to have something big going for it. All I can think of are:

     - Mass Effect 3

     - Guild Wars 2

     - Max Payne 3

     - Bioshock: Infinite

     - DOTA 2

     - Diablo 3

     - GTA 5

  • Guild Wars 2. If we're talking MMOs.

  • Gamer54321Gamer54321 Member UncommonPosts: 452

    Maybe the MMO:

    "Give us your money"

    "Mediocrity"

    "Grind N' Level"

You would think so, but AoC had the big bare melons and still tanked.  Melons alone are not enough!  (Sorry young men, but you will discover the truth to this statement in time).

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

I vote TSW, not that GW2 would be crap or nothing, i've just had enough of medieval fantasy, i bore at the sight of swords, elves and other "deep-fantasy" stuff.

As my sig says, currently walking around imperial fleet waiting on wz ques and wishing for beta access to TSW!

http://neocron-game.com/ - now totally F2P no cash-shops or micro transactions at all.

I actually think the fact that Salvatore is working for them is a negative.  If you chained all of the Drzzt, Drrizt, Driztt, Drizztt, Dritzz, Drriztt, and Drizst characters I've met in MMORPGs together end to end, they wrap around the world 17 times :P

That's okay though, because the idea of an Elder Scrolls designer being involved in an MMORPG more than makes up for it.

I'm just happy to have lots of varied options coming out this year after the TOR-fail.  Between TERA, TSW, GW2, Archeage, etc I'm hoping that one of them sticks.  Right now my money's on Archeage or TSW, but time will tell!  After TOR I've learned to keep my expectations LOW! lol!

every video i've seen of this game (TERA)  EU or Korean has been the same about the mobs, they definitely aren't dynamic. they were pretty standard mobs running up and smacking you or using ranged spells/attacks. Sure there's no targeting and that is exciting but the mobs ai could have a little work. GW2 mobs will change according to the number of players in the area doing the same things, they'll actually gain new abilities and react to the players. Now THAT's exciting!
