They won't learn or to put it another way, they might learn but can't apply what they have learned as long as the publisher is breathing down their neck.
Why two faction open world pvp has fail written all over it. Why do you think Wow has dead pvp servers? If you put up pvp rewards one faction is just going to abuse the hell out it, that is what players do. How ignorant of Bioware to not realize that.
Oh for a development studio that recognizes two faction open world pvp never ever works.
The actual problem is not limited to open world PvP. The truth is the whole PvP system in SWTOR is a failure. Ilum open world PvP concernes players the most because it is required to get the best PvP gear, but even if it wouldn't be that way - the warzones (battlegrounds) are few and do not correspond to the modern PvP standards. They promise to add few more, but still - you can't even choose which warzone to queue for! As an empire player I would get the huttball most of the time (playing vs. my own faction) and the huttball is the worst PvP game type I have ever played - I won't go into the details there cause there are lots of complaints about the huttball already. So you either go play huttball vs, your own faction - or go Ilum world PvP (which lags badly - most players get 4-5 fps in the heat of battle). Both aren't fun at all, so I canceled my subscription for the ongoing month till they really fix the things (if they do fix em). I don't jnow what happened - cause they had beta and plenty of time to create balanced PvP, yet for some reason they didn't. Even back at WAR the things were much better (excelent battlegrounds) and the main trouble was with the open PvP cause the populace was heavily skewed towards evil factions, still it did work fine. The SWTOR PvP is a complete failure.
And for those who do - stop using this term exploit as something illegal. Everything players do within the original code is legal. So blame the devs, not the empire players who won by the rules (though yes rules at the moment were flawed and unjust). Republic could have avoided the damage by not going to Ilum but they wanted this fight. ))
