The Political System is basically a new social aspect of endgame content that simply ties everything a player's guilld does together in Tera.

On the voter side it's fun because every two weeks they get to vote on a guild that they like, and get rewarded with some nice high level endgame consumables for free.  However depending on who they voted for they may get screwed out of a few NPC venders, and have to travel further to reach them.

On the Guild side, Guilds will compete or collaberate with each other on trying to take over specfic terrorities in the game.  The rewards for getting elected is that the guild leader becomes a Vanarch, and the whole guild gets bad ass mounts to show off.  Vanarchs also are able to make a lot of money for their guild bank through the manipulation of NPCs and taxation.  Money is very valuable in this game for upgrading endgame gear and such.

The process of becoming a Vanarch is that you have to get your guild level to level 3, which means the guild has to be very active as guild level decays very quickly overtime without a lot of players.  Second the guild leader needs to choose whether they will acquire guild points through voting or through PvP.  If players choose the PvP root they will fight in 2 different Battlegrounds, 5v5 Arena-type BG and 10v10 objective based PvP.  Players that accumulate the most points in PvP or have the majority of player votes will win the terrority.  So far there's 3 different continents that players can try to win.

Overall the Political System changes the metagame of Tera by encouraging community interaction instead of grinding for gear to become well known.  This also makes PvP more relevant to endgame, even after you've acquired full PvP set, and achievements.  The best part of the Political system is that you don't need to be a huge zerg guild, if you have 10 good players you can grind points through PvP. I also forgot to mention that there are special challenging boss fights that a Guild will need to be able to accomplish in order to keep their ranks, so Vanarchs get access to a bit more endgame PvE content.

Voting for a new Vanarch happens approximately every 2 weeks.

That was a great explanation Wolfe.

A few things I would like to add. The territories are held for three weeks, and then there is a week taken to determine popular vote/PvP bracket winnings. In order to participate in the PVP bracket or get your name on a voters card, it costs a whopping 30million gold. So it ain't cheep. That is a weeks worth of farming if your a solo player.

If you can get your guild to control the main starter town and the lvl 58 territory towns
you pretty much control the servers economy. Rich beyond your wildest dreams !...lol

I was making around 10-12 mil every day / 4-6 hours game time at lvl58.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Awesome info on the political/social system.

I only wish it were more about world PvP (like say, make a whole area a large PvP pool instead of little instances) and less about lobbies.
