Bioware are like France in 1940.

They did well in the past, but in the end, the war machine (EA) took them over and they surrendered. They do the odd resistance (good game), but they will be crushed.

EA are like an alternative version of video game WWII.

All England had are Bitmap Brothers and...i literally only have Amiga and Spectrum references now, dammit where's the UK devs?!

See, that's it!! Battle of Britain, it will take a British dev to get us out of this corporate luftwaffe! Stand up and be counted devs!..

WE...NEED YOU *point finger in poster campaign*

Hmm, been watching american dad and south park, it has kinda messed with my logic a bit...carry on :)...and the beer :(

    Seems Fair?

    Not even.

EDITED to add that this is the reason we aren't getting new 'INNOVATIVE" Games. They take a risk, it doesn't pan out, and now they are the worst company ever. i wouldn't try and make different games for you asshats either.

Well said.  You're wrong about one thing tho.  TOR has actually been doing better than was expected.  Don't formulate conclusions based off opinions from this site alone.  The only people who post here about TOR, just come here to complain.  Most of us who are enjoying the game are too busy playing than to come here and post.

When people learn to stop giving money to developers that fail to treat us as properly as customers we are, this genre will get the green light for a new golden era. Untill then, it will just keep going this way.

And some other user said "the minority spoke again"...to him ill say this: its because of people like you that this world is as it is, a sad story. I hope you never get caught in the "minority" side of anything that could ruin your life, because then the only help you will get is someone saying "the minority spoke again"....

For a company who released some of the best titles ever to fail this miserably it's pretty fair. Not to mention Dragon Age 2. Only good team they have left is the Mass Effect team.

They even lied to the players on the forum saying they wouldn’t lose the weapons they bought and then after they removed the weapons they removed their post on the forums.

EA is currently being sued for something similar… EA promised PS3 players a free copy of battlefield 1943 with purchase of the new battlefield 3… and then when it was time to pay up they went back on the deal…

EA has become well known for being nothing but thieves and liars…

After the people who spent money on Battlefield Play4Free got ripped off they made signatures with pics of the devs and the words “thieves and liars” on it and everyone started to use it…Well they didn’t like that and are now going on a banning spree on anyone who uses the sig..

EA is by far the worst...

haha nope Battlefield and fraud are my reasons  xD

    This is great..

Hopefully Bioware and other major developers will leave the MMORPG industry alone.. Just let it die, so it can be rebuilt with the passion that was before..

The giants are killing the industry faster than anyone.. Overshadowing the indie games that truly want to do something special..

In light of all of this, I have so much respect for Bethesda for not even attempting an MMO.. Great job..

Darn, fraud got me. Well goes to show me! Well, on another note atleast Bioware still exists. The second EA disolved Bioware and installs all of their own people into the company will truly be a sad day for the gaming industry. Right now I will just treat them as the overlord paying the bills.

    Not really.

Dissapointment is certainly a valid response. But to label the entire company as suddenly becoming the worst is both non sequitur logic and an entirely biased opinion that banks on a quantifiably small portion of their performance record.

Yes, it says they're maeesin' some stuff up at present, but perhaps one should see what else they are doing and assess the company as a whole instead of determingin an entire world view on a segment of something?

Your only as good as your last game, car, book, etc..

Also while one team doesn't equal a whole company, EA and their managers and QA did approve that game.   Since they are offically "proud" of DA2 and have bacily posted that anyone that doesn't like just doesn't "get" it, this is their new standard of quaility.   So till they come out and say that DA2 was below their standards and promise to make better games, I don't expect any game to come of EAware to be up to the standards I that I expected of Bioware before they sold out.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

In the direction they are heading in, I can see them taking the crown from Activision soon enough.

I don't care what EA says on that front. I do care what Bioware has published themselves about their opinion on DA2 and their work on DA3 though.

For that matter. You know what my opinion of DA2 was?

    I didn't buy the game.

I knew it wasn't going to be a game I could enjoy as much as other ones and I didn't like the way they built the game to rehash the same content multiple times over. So I didn't buy the game.

I didn't sit around complaining about it. I didn't buy it and then rant my head off on the forum about these issues. I did my due diligence on reviewing what they had told me that game was like before hand and came to a decision on as informed a topic as I could.

Likewise with SWTOR. I put due diligence into knowing what the game was going to be and what was generally happeing with the game as the company had ifnormed me and I came to a conclusion on it.

Now in the case of TOR I did buy the game. I perfectly well knew what I was paying for and I perfectly well know what I have and am getting out of the game.

I can not fault a company for being honest about their products. Feel free to rail on EA for their dumb tactics and actions, but they are not the developers. What they say, unless they enforce a strongarm on the company contractually, does not translate to what the developers themselves say.

And like I said, certainy their last games haven't been as good as people want. Then do the sane thing and reach that conclusion from an informed point of view that lets you do something about it.

And likewise, look at what the developers themselves are saying and, more importantly, doing with their next project (or in the case of TOR, their updates).

Which is the reason I didn't buy SWTOR and still havn't.   The barily talked at all while I was in beta and only now do they even agree that ability lag and FPS problems exist.

The two reasons I have complainted about SWTOR is that one I really wanted to want SWTOR.   I am a big star wars fan, loved KOTOR and KOTOR2, I even like a good themepark, but it just isn't.  It's a very basic MMO lacking many features and full of questionable desgin choices but will good, if a bit ciche, stories and characters.   Secondly till DA2 Bioware was on a short list of devs that I would buy a game sight unseen.  Luckily for me they put out a demo.  So I hopied this would be a return to glory but nope.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

They certainly do tend to ignore things until they basically become so obvious they cannot be ignored.

Also, whats the deal with the 'Founders Title'?   It seems inorder to get it, you have to be 'billed for at least 1 month' (which I assume means an additional month after the one that comes with the game).     Sounds less like a reward, and more like a Micro-transaction.

Either you have short memory or you weren't here:

    SoE got the palm with:

    • Not even trying to balance nor fix the game

    • Not listening to the players

    • Blatantly lie to the customers multiple times

    • Telling Jedi was unlockable at launch when it was developped and rushed out of the door afterwards

    • Selling an Xpack 2 weeks before totally revamping the game without notificating the players.

    • Implementing real money lotery in game (TCG)

    At least BioWare

    1. Try to communicate

    2. Try to fix bugs

No, their customer support is a clear example that they do not want to communicate anything - except maybe telling customers to f**k off.

Thats a hard call, sure SOE has has rushed or shoddy releases or made bad judgement calls like deciding pvp in EQ2 was a bad idea. BUT look what EA did to Ultima Online, Mhthic Games and Bioware. At least SOE destroys their games in house, EA buys out a company makes their game horrible then destroys the company.

To my knowledge, EA has never blatanly ripped off their customers with, at the least, shady business practices and , at most, borerline fraudulant/criminal acts.  Same can't be said about soe.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

if a game is bad you just dont pay for it, even if theres nothing else to pay for... taht only means the game is worth the cash or the payer has no brain.

By the way.... wasnt SOE the worst company ever? now BW/EA has the privilege?

    lol
