The rogue and you! PVE and PVP!

I have been playing Rift a bit over 8 months now. Of those 8 months I have accumulated multiple characters. Both of my mains (50ies)are rogues. I would say the majority of my alts are rogues at different levels. Of all the classes in Rift, the rogue is the one class I have passion for.

So today I am going to give you some of the builds I use for both pve and pvp. I am making this for our new players or for a vet who has not played a rogue. I hope you enjoy!

PVE Rogue: Starting out as a rogue can be one of the more fun classes to play. Even early on rogues are quite strong. I use a limited bard build for the first 10 levels. I also add ranger to my soul tree and assassin after that. I have had debate with other lowbie rogues on builds. This by far is one of the best.

I use this build for pve and also pvp. It is quite effective. It gives you the ability to fight multiple mobs at the same time without any downtime. It is versatile, you can fight anything at any range. This build gives you a pet which holds aggro against a single target fairly well. You heal, have attacks at all ranges. Can fight many monsters without  a big health drop. You can fight and win creatures that are 6-8 levels above you. This also includes players in Warfronts.

 

After level 10 I use this build to about level 35. After level 35 there are more efficient builds and you will have more than one role. So, I will only show the build up to level 34. Here they are:

Now at 35 things change up a bit for the rogue. As better builds exist past the one I gave above. For pve ill share the one I use. At this point it is also recommended to have a additional role or two as you want a spec for different situations. Here is my post 35 pve spec.

At 35 I use one of two specs:

In this spec I switched out assassin with marksman. This spec is highly effective againsy pve targets. Here is the progression I use with this spec.

At level 50 I keep this build for pve. This is the spec I use in Ember Isle. It is quite effective!

While not the best, it does work fairly well. My pvp/pve alt build is as follows:

At 50 I use 4 roles, one pve non raid spec(The one above) a pve raid/pvp dps build. A bard build, and a tank build.

The Bard build is mainly for pve raiding. Other than that, I rarely use it. If I ever decide to pick up a 5th role I will make a Battlebard. They are quite effective in pvp. But dont plan on it anytime soon.

I am sure for some of my builds there may be better. But I know the builds I gave above work well.

Of all the archtypes in Rift I have found rogue to be the most versatile of any. I am happy to play a rogue.
