Community health

I have been watching this thread develop and it is pretty funny.  An AI person is calling out for SV to ban another person because of negativity while breaking the rules of the forum himself.  I guess when you are in AI you can do that.

How important is the health of our community here on the forums anyway? I see loads of people that show absolutely no promise of trying to do anything less than trolling or giving people a rough time.

Maybe we should be allowed to report users specifically not just their posts along with a reason why?

I got a little private message from a certain someone and i proceeded to check his previous posts, this guy has been banned before and hes not showing any promise of stopping. Is allowing people like this on the forums really "healthy" for the community?

I know we should accept peoples differences but when your just doing your best on taking a shit on peoples parade as well as keep doing it even though your breaking rules and getting banned. Do people really think this is ok behavior? do you?

Heres what he said, What i said and a link where you can see all of his posts.

Oh his name is Numosh185.

I've heard countless stories of Star Vault not being willing to ban people because of their current financial situation (last quarter sales showed an increase in sales but a decrease in subscribers, with another 500 more to break even). Granted, with the exception of a few, many MMOs I've covered have a tendency to avoid permanent in-game suspensions over community (harassment, vulgarity) offenses. More PvP games like MO and Darkfall use the excuse of "well it's a heated competition in game so we expect heated discussion on the forums/chat."

As for community health, it really depends on the game. Games like RuneScape or World of Warcraft have some truly awful members, but the game is so solo oriented that the average player's experience of the game has a level of disconnect from the community. Games like Mortal Online where the community is very important because you have to interact with them on some level whether you like it or not, and that ends up with the less savory members having much more prominence and publicity.

If you aree subscribed, it's really hard to get a ban, evne if you get one you can talk yourself out of it by threating to quit and make few others do the same. If you are not subscribed, however, SV can ban you just based on some mods personal dislike for your opinions.

not true at all considering half of aq are banned from the forums with active subscriptions.

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

SV forum bans anyone they don't like, even if they aren't breaking the rules.

They call it "persona non grata".

Even though i dont like mods attitude and the things i m writing in mo forums are anything but flattering for SV i ve never got banned. Dont even got a single infraction so its hard for me to believe about the "persona non grata" policy. As long as you say anything you wanna say without breaking the forum rules it doesnt make sense to get yourself banned. Now concerning AQ have half their members banned -dont really know which members exactly do you mean by that- but since some of your younger members are active in the forums, acting like pricks, insulting, e-peening and calling others "idiots" cause simply they dont share the same thoughts, it makes perfect sense to be banned if ofc they acted similarly and its impessive somehow the fact that some of you are not banned yet.

I've been banned a few times for "persona non grata" myself.
