I know for us Western people there isn't much information on Archeage right now accept for the few cbt4 videos that are in Korean. I've been reading some of the general MMORPG.com boards just for something to follow, and one of the huge topics is thempark vs sandbox. I think there are a lot of older mmo gamers, and quite a few converts pushing for some good features and content within games that sandbox games provide. The mere fact that Archeage is the number two game on the hype meter says a lot. I just wanted to spark some conversation on this forum because I think Archeage, WHEN it gets a NA publisher is going to be one of the games spearheading this new change.
I stumbled upon a really good article that covers the basics of the game, but it also reinvigorated my excitement a bit. I don't know how many of you have read this article, it's a little older, but I thought I'd share it anyways. It's a good read.

Enjoy!
P.S. What sandbox mechanics do you most enjoy? Or which Archeage specific features are you most looking forward to?

Finally, a real MMORPG.
"ArcheAge provides a massive, dynamic world with a deep lore and history that will not only captivate players but allow them to forge new chapters in the history of ArcheAge. Spanning across three large continents is a seamless world ready to be shaped by players, oh and yes seamless does mean no loading screens. No two servers will share the same experience, and the same location on two different servers may look completely different. In ArcheAge players are free to determine their own destiny, join the bad guys, become a fabled hero or live your days as a humble craftsman. The role you play in the world is determined by your choices and actions, if you wanted to visit a theme park then you are at the wrong attraction my friend.
"Esport with tournaments is for hardcore pvp'rs that want to be competitive. Openworld PVP with ganking and griefing is for casuals that just wants their pvp mixed with pve from time to time."

ALL OF IT! I love having the freedom to do things. Building a castle? Navy? Grief clan? Actually objectives to set for your clan and work towards. But most of all it's the drama that makes it all worth while. The server politics which rival clans create amongst each other. These rivalries go back nearly a decade in some cases.
Sorry my url isn't a link...
I'm also excited for a cohesive world without instances and load screens every five minutes! It will help create a more immersive experience. I've never really been a huge fan of instances either. Although there are apparently supposed to be battlegrounds, but they are only for practicing playing with your class build, and they provide no rewards or incentive.
I think I'm mostly excited about being able to make nearly everything. You can create towns, build walls around your towns, and plant trees and plants wherever you want. You can pretty much take on any role you want; pvp when you want or be a farmer. I really like the endless options as well.
There is....you just have to look for it. I try to inform as much as I can the people on these boards, but obviously dedicated fansites like archeagesource or archeage portal can give you more informations.
Just ask anything you wanna know there and you're sure to have answers.
Aye. There are a ton of videos, and not all of them are made by Koreans.
Have u done anything with the animal taming?
Also, what are your opinions on official forums? Did Dark Age of Camelot have it right not having any forums? Is iy a good place for the developers to hear the opinions of the player, or is it a place where the whiniesr minority gets their way and ruins the game for the rest?
Well, I personnaly post more on those forums than here sadly, mainly because I find the code they use a bit limited (no offense admins!). Although, i've tried to be active here too!
Anyway, if OP can't find any video, here's my channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/AmaterasuOkamiYami?feature=mhee). I usually try to answer all questions in comments (in engrrrrish).
As for taming, it's not ingame yet.
I dunno. i mostly just go to AAsource. I find it hard to read at times.
maybe its the white backgrounds.
