See i like Rift

I like Rift because the devs there just seem to know what people want and they are willing to do what it takes. Am i right when i assume that they just added the mobile app feature? They put out content faster then any other game dev, every patch has content, they make mobile apps, they make looting easier.

The only two things i didn't like about Rift was that it used the gear treadmill system, HOWEVER, they did offset this system with rewards you get from participating in killing Rifts which i liked and they weren't difficult to save up for, those armor sets and weapons i mean.

The other thing i didn't like was that the pet classes couldn't tame their pets, now hear me out, i love taming ever since it was introduced to me (i found out later other older games did it first) by World of Warcraft. There''s this personal bond that occurs when you gain the pet you want and you tame it. Especially when it's a rare I dunno just suddenly gaining one through a talent point just never appealed to me. I'm hoping that when i get a return i can get a new computer and be able to buy this game and play it. I tried it in beta on multiple occasions and i had so many crashes (mainly because i think i was below the minimum requirements) that i just gave up. Friends have been playing it and I've loved what i was seeing as they played.

All in all if my computer could handle this game i would be on it right now playing and this is probably the ONLY sub only game that i would happily pay monthly for because their DEVs definitely have a great connection with community and actually care about how their game is perceived by the public.

Even though Rift doesn't suit my preferences, it is refreshing to see a developer putting out an honest effort.  It's too bad Blizzard has turned into such a money sucking pig of a company, imagine what they could do if they cared as much as Trion.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

Im torn between this (Rift) and EQ2 right now. I like both and just waiting for a good sandbox to come out. Ive tried so many mmo's and just havent found the one right for me. I think i will go back to Rift, but i have like 15k station cash so might get an all access pass from SOE to play Vanguard, EQ2, and/or POTBS.

I did like Rift, one of the themepark games i did like. Felt less confined and restricted than some of the others. And EQ2 i have 1800+ days (thinks thats right)and all the vet rewards so..... a hard choice lol. I do like how Rift has come along since release.

Only thing really still bugging me about Rift compared to EQ2 is the lack of races. I am a huge fan, but that is my pet peeve. Boring leveling or not I would reroll a alt in a heartbeat if it was a non humanoid. Yes OP btw you are correct.

See it is not that they just introduced the App. They created a sub forum...they hired devs who job it is to talk with the community

This is also what they did with Addons. They did not simply just throw them out there. They created a sub forum and have a dev who's job all day is make that system better and communicate with addon devs.

One of the better things about Trion is they realize Rift is their cash cow. If ONLYYYYYYYYYYY Blizzard would realize this and treat it as such we might be able to get the same out of them. The class devs hate them or love them talk pretty much every day and answer questions and communicate.

Unfortunately the pet system is well underdeveloped in Rift, mainly as you can't tame pets and the pet classes you've got could be WAY more interesting and should be way more pet related (esp. the necromancer)

Therefore my personal "total awesomness" patch would (besides a gigaton of fluff and hobbies like fishing or growing plants etc) contain a revamp of the whole pet system.

I'm dreaming of pet classes that let you actively play the pet besides your character instead of just putting it on defend and use it as a nothing more than a dot. Thinking of sending my pet to roam, patrol between spots, do X if Y, fetch (loot corpses on range), track (like finding treasures or digging spots as in Fable), sensing danger/warn me and such.
