No quality-games until ... summer, this year?

HrothaHrotha Member UncommonPosts: 821

Man... I just came home from a pub and I found myself really bored this Saturday. I am bored super rarely! But it happens, and when it happens I do not install a new game and just consume over my feelings - no - I ask myself, what went wrong?

Are gaming politics somehow badly made up this and the late last year speaking of game releases? I feel myself deep down in a dark void where no quality games are available at the moment.

I dont have BF3, Skyrim was done super-fast due to literally no-story and too easy difficulty (even on hardcore), Deus Ex 3 was really good while it lasted, I dont own a D3 beta which has replay-value, a Dota2 beta I own, but its really not my type of game.

So I just re-checked all MMO releases, all free ones and all good paids: There is no MMO which can attract me atm. The games I installed yesterday till today - no kidding - were GW1, Age of Conan, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Rift and Vindictus. I said myself "Long time no see, hay lets give it a try!" - but sooner or later I deinstalled them again.

So, besides BF3 (because I dont own it, my brain thinks it could be quite interesting) I cant think up >>A<< title who could interest me. I love RPGs and FPSs and well, what can you do when you play Games for over 12years now? Am I sated?

Time to lay down the keyboard and mouse until a possible GW2 beta appears on the horizon?

Oh nice that you mentioned Witcher 2, yes I played it actually after Skyrim. Which was hell of fun, honestly. Funny that it didnt came up my mind while writing the post above.

What do you mean by modded-Skyrim? I actually restricted myself in the main-game so I didnt onehit everything :)

    why are people so dramatic?

take a step back and look at what this guy is writing. he goes on a pub. he comes home. then concludes that there are no good games.

and is there supposed to? was there ever? I dont see high quality music or art or film getting released all the time - good stuff comes by rarely. This should be obvious.

to lay down the keyboard until gw2 comes out? People seem to think that things are universally factual good because some websites and online anons are talking about something. do research and find games you like, then perhaps you will find good stuff.

wayy to many people just sit back and expect good games to be blown up in their faces. a lot of the good games dont get much exposure from outlets like this site.

    serious sam 3

ignore the reviews on some sites who just played the 1st level, the good review sites - e.g. RPS and more importantly the players love it  (the 1st level is a troll / joke by croteam taking the mick out of po faced console style shooters)

absoloutley insane 16 player coop mode, good ingame graphics, corny jokes and terrible cutscenes

my favourite PC shooter since warhead, way more fun than rage

    also: arkham city

There is ton of user created mods for Skyrim that make this game much harder. Don't remember websites now but just google for skyrim mods , there is at least one very big website with variuous mods.

They are open-world RPGs like Skyrim and Oblivion although with an immersive, post-apocalyptic setting.

Bastion is a great little game. I though meh when I did the demo but it was on sale at steam recently so i gave it another go, not disapointed. Excelent game production values are exemplary, the music is as good as any game music ever. A couple of the tracks have even become firm favourites. Plain fun.
