Yeah I got it with your first post man, you love L2 and think its the best thing since sliced bread.
I really don't care and was only making a comparsion in terms of how the game functions.
ok, ok, sorry. Didn't mean to shove it down your throat. It's just that these types of games really shine when you are plopped down into a world and you seek to make your own destiny. They are not theme park games where you experience the world like one would experience rides.
There's a lot of depth there if you can sign into the idea.
If you ever play a game like this I just suggest shifting your paradigm, that's all.
And ya know, sliced bread is pretty cool. Especially the fancy stuff

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
I thought those vids were pretty good. It's not often that a game like archage has such high end looking avatars and animations. Might be doing it properly for once.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Can't say that I'm that impressed. Graphics are so-so to poor and the sieges just look a mess. The housing is interesting, but that's about it.
It's ok, you don't have to feel threatened because GW2 doesn't have any of this.
You can still grind some Dynamic Events and do some battlegrounds PVP or "W vs W vs W" for "server bonuses" lol

Imagine how good SWTOR would've been had they added features and larger worlds like this. What a shame.
I hate adding those who actually post informtion on games to my ignore list but was this really nessicary?
Imagine how much Better AA would be if it had SWTOR story.
Yes. It would be nice if SWTOR had social features within the game. I'm not the only one who yearns for such ability. I didn't know this comment would get you so upset.
wizyy my point was the night having the brightness of 3 moon around manatan when there isnt supposed to be any moon but once a month!mo night is better in my book graphic off would need rain to look like that but the basic idea is there!
Night in Mortal Online yeah it is more like real night in wilds I agree, BUT playing with that kind of night IS AWFUL.
I don't want to play game with that kind of night ever again sorry.
Sorry if you want that kind of nights you have to stick to games like Mortal. Anyway many mmorpg's these days don't have day & night cycles at all *cough* swtor *cough* or weather so...

If you need your game to be THAT real then theres a HUGE sandbox game right out your front door. It doesent get any realler then that.
Can't say that I'm that impressed. Graphics are so-so to poor and the sieges just look a mess. The housing is interesting, but that's about it.
I've seen this in quite a few videos, the sieging looks incredibly messy. The graphics also look a lot less good than they did in the first official trailers where they showed off the scenery. It sort of reminds me of Lego in a way, which is fine because it's fun, it's just not the adult MMO I am looking for I think, it's just all kinda random.
Can't say that I'm that impressed. Graphics are so-so to poor and the sieges just look a mess. The housing is interesting, but that's about it.
CryEngine 3... What? The creator of the videos clearly didn't have the settings on full, as capturing video and running a game like AA would really eat up resources fast.
Good to see the "shell" of this game coming into focus. Clearly more work is needed to make sieges more tactical but overall positive I believe seeing how this game is shaping up.
Gotta love people who can't see the big picture or know how things work when recording a game. You need to lower the settings when running fraps and such, as it will skip and lag a lot if you don't. Also, you don't even know what graphics settings these videos are on do you? Any of you? No, didn't think so.
It's made with Cryengine 3, the most graphically enhanced engine for MMO's currently out there. Way to know what you're talking about, I'm pointing my finger at people who say the graphics are 'so-so'. You can talk about style all you want, but you can't knock this game for using the most powerful graphics engine out there. That, in my opinion, seems very ignorant.
Also, it's funny to see people mentioning how the siege system is dumbed down and messy. This, after watching a very short clip where you can't really see much other than a mob of people and a few catapults, some people apparently think that seeing that makes them experts on the game and the mechanics of the siege system within it. How many of you have seen the settings in this game? How do any of you know that group health and damage can't be turned off to only show your own? Who's to say that this siege was done by an organized group? It clearly wasn't by the videos, but a the same time, none of us know exactly what was going on unless we were there. Maybe the leaders were simply disorganized. How is that a fault of the game? Absolutely hillarious.
And just to touch on the night lighting. Dark nights in games such as MO just doesn't work. Most people do not want to play games where they can't see. Most developers do not want to promote players all hanging out in cities at night. Adding a low light system would push away subs, make it hard on the servers because of player clusters, and piss people off in general. It's a better idea to make it dark, but not too dark that you can't go out and do what you want to do. That's something I never understood about sandboxes. Sandboxes are supposed to be about doing what you want, when you want, how you want to. Yet developers since UO have added a low lighting system that goes against the very core concepts of what a sandbox is supposed to be. Yeah, let's make players near blind during large portions of the game. As if the full loot, FFA PvP wasn't bad enough, now they are going to play blind. Fun stuff. Really.
Go walk into the wood at night if you want realistic lighting. This is a game where players are supposed to have fun. Sometimes you have to sacrifice realism for the sake of everyone else playing the game.
Comments
It's not arguable at all. In L2 if you went to a field and just killed mobs and that's all you did then I would venture that you were doing it wrong.
I have over 4 and a hafl years of L2 game play under my belt and anything and everything of value was based on player interaction.

Why is this game called AAA, Internet says it have a budget of 25m.
Other sandbox game on the market have lower budget?

I don't know, I still see ? and !
If i build a pc around the specs of this game, I should be able to play other future MMo' like Firefall, and GW2?
Yes. It would be nice if SWTOR had social features within the game. I'm not the only one who yearns for such ability. I didn't know this comment would get you so upset.
tbh the only thing that makes me despise SW:TOR is the budget they had and the result that they put out
If this game comes out in NA I will try it out for sure

Looks fantastic to me! Can't wait for this one, Wushu and GW2 it's going to be an awesome couple of years!
Impressive.That's what i call MMORPG.
All others are just multiplayer crap games.
