I doubt that. I think I remember ANet saying they didn't want a long beta. And considering they will start inviting people to beta weekends in the coming months, I doubt they will drag it out to September.

Wasn't there a similar thread about amazon.de putting out a release date? I think the general consensus was that these release dates are just made up so that you can pre-order from them without them actually knowing the actual release date.

If gamestop is also reporting this, then its got to be wrong.

It's highly doubtful that it will be released that soon, I'd say late this year is the earliest possible release. (most likely around xmas time so arena.net can fully capitalize on the new release.)

Oh Lawd, I highly doubt that. ANet has already stated that the open beta will be more of a demo for the game then an actual testing beta. And seeing as we are nearing the Open beta, I see a holiday release as waaaaay too far off. Looking forward to a June-July release.

since the blog post by the company founder mentions "aggressively ramping up the size" of the test events in March and April, and the lead designer has been really open about the fact that public test events will be essentially marketing just prior to launch, I'm going with late April or May

(Mike O. could've said they'd be ramping up the size of test events "slowly" or "judiciously" or "carefully" or anything that suggested moderation. you may dismiss it as semantics, but it shows their expectations for how quickly things can proceed)
