I was thinking the same thing. I mean he basically said that everyone he worked with was giving biased reviews:
"The reviews I've seen always seem prefabricated, or biased in the fact that they unfairly lean towards one side or the other in attempt to gain readership or appease sponsors. Me? I simply don't care enough to lie. Besides, if I poke the bear a little too much and the people who pay me get mad, I can always claim that it was all just a joke."
Leads me to believe that he knows his co-workers are writing prefabricated, biased reviews.
I thought "Oh... this might be good..."
BAM!!!! Same shit as EVERY. OTHER. REVIEW. ...these kids are either playing a different game then we are... or have no idea what they're talking about...
A friend of mine's father used to say "If you're talking to a group of people and it seems like most them are being assholes, maybe it's you."
Did it ever occur to you that if all the reviews are saying the same thing, and you disagree with it, that maybe they're right and you're wrong? Holding a minority opinion does not automatically make you a virtuous underdog. Sometimes you're just being a jackass and can't (or won't) see it.
Minority opinion? Really? Even the official forums are full of negativity, and you need to have a sub to post there. Imagine how all the gamers who aren't subbed must feel about it.
That's because people who frequent the forums are the most vocal element and rarely represent the majority opinion. Those who are actually enjoying the game are playing it rather than bothering to post about it all day (except those of us who are stuck at work).
The fact that pretty much every reviewer has given SWTOR good marks indicates that Bioware did do something right with this game. Most people have received it quite well despite what you see here or on other cranky elitist gaming forums.

and heres the thing you may not know, those that frequent the forum are in the minority. most players are too busy playing the game to bother with b****ing on the forum.
Exactly, only time I ever bother to come here is when I have a free moment at work...most of these responses come from the same whiney bunch of people who race through a game to get to the end a few weeks after release and wonder why they are burned out.
Maybe one day they will move out, start a RL and figure out that games are the ENJOYMENT, not the work...
So many whiners here. So he is not allowed to like the game? Or is it that his opinion doesn't match your opinion? Is that why some of you cry so much?
Anyway, as for the article. Glad you are enjoying the game although I have to admit this isn't one of your funnier articles.
I think my biggest problem with the review is that the reviewer calls himself a humorist.
But maybe if you think SWTOR is a challenge, then I guess it's likely you think this review is funny, too. We're living in the age of Idiocracy, right?

WHAT EVER PHROG MAN MAYBE YOU'RE JUST BEING A BIASED SHEEP AND YOU CAN'T SEE IT. ANYONE WHO EVER SAYS THEY'RE FINE WITH SOMETHING GOT IT FOR FREE OR HAS BRAIN SARS. WHY WOULD PEOPLE GO TO THE FORUMS JUST TO COMPLAIN ABOUT STAR WARS THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE SOMETHING THE INTERNET WOULD DO?
ALSO i have a prob with my game i picked jedi but they said romances are bad and i have a green lightsaber so i can't any dark points but i don't know how do i form jedi babby plz halp? wtf bioware?
Coyote, this doesn't feel honest, there see that? That's honesty! I can honestly say it wasn't funny either. Your right the ui, space combat suck, so does do many other revolutionarily redone facets of the game. I can honestly point out the character creation, graphics, repetitive gameplay, poor class design, blatant poorly copied game mechanics, the fact that I can be light side good bad guy (oxymoron) with dark influences (completely at odds with ip). That's a few, honestly best part of the game is the ip (star wars, cause without that in the title or class names I couldn't tell) and server quality. Other than that's this game is bargain bin quality. HONESTLY!
Only your opinion counts? I didn't think it was a very funny article (most of his are though), but how do you know what he honestly feels about the game. There are over a million and a half people (not me) that honestly like the game. It is possible for people to like something you don't.
Coyote, I'm disappointed. Regardless of whether you like the game or not, you should be making fun of everything. This felt... fake. Biased even.
Where is the Coyote that mocks the living crap out of everything and everyone?
Where is the Coyote whose articles we all enjoy reading (as they are USUALLY funny as heck!)

MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P
You did it now, you gone and said something good about ToR, time for the HATE to flow, how dare you say something good about it *cry sob* its the *crys more*
Ok I like the game but you just made the haters hate, be sure you get a food taster and someone to open your mail for a while, perhaps even check under you car for bombs.
he did mock tor's flaws pretty good. He is right about he good parts of this game . The fact that haters want people to blast every little thing about the game and he didnt is a huge joke on u in my opinion.
So coyote likes tor get over it , u dont have to like tor we get it u guys hate tor , any one who likes it is paid to like it or so forth we get all that.
Tor fans are dick's with no life who wouldnt know a good game if it bit them in the ass yelling good game good game, we get thats how u feel

See what happens when you use all the capital letters in your first paragraph? You have none left when you need them later.
Hm no mention of the lacklustre PvP... inability to choose warfronts, lack of incentives for world PvP, only two level brackets which means constant facerolling for anyone less than level 40.
No mention of the complete lack of innovation in regards to MMORPGs. No, voice acting is not innovative, it has been done for years and heck even Dragon Age Origins has better story and voice acting than this.
Also it is false that your choice in dialogue can alter the quest, the final outcome is always the same. The only thing it effects is the dark/light points and some fluff, like an NPC dying or not but which has no effect on the outcome of the quest. Mass Effect 2 had real quest decisions as in that it affects your relationship with NPCs and future quests, in SW:TOR that does not exist at all.
But SW:TOR is fun, yeah sure but so is bowling. That does not make bowling a good MMORPG.

When he fails to bring up FACTS. Like how the PvP is so underdeveloped and all the crap that has gone on in Illum and that the choices you make in quests actually has little to no meaning (like they do in other Bioware games) then it is not about being allowed to like it or not.
Also he says that this game has it all. Really? I haven't even heard that from the most adamant fans of this game.
At best it is negligence on his profession and at worst it is deliberately deluding people.

...I think someone takes themselves a little too seriously, and it isn't the OP.
A majority of the player base that started at release and stuck with playing one character are max level. I think you did not account for the large amount of players who really enjoy what SWTOR game play offers are spending their time leveling a 2nd/3rd/4th character doing what SWTOR does well which is the story.
If you really think it takes 20 hours a day to get to max fast in this game I am really not sure what game you are playing because its certainly not SWTOR.
I have read user reviews that were funnier then that.

Completely instanced MMO, literally completely instanced. Almost as bad as GW1.
No Combat log (have fun raiding with no combat log trying to figure out where the damage is coming from.)
No chat bubbles
Horrible ability lag (that is still there becuase i've been following it on the forums, it's why i quit in the first place)
Abilities that simply won't ever fire off.
Open worlds that feel devoid of all life and personality. (npc's don't even move)
RNG system for pvp gear (enjoy multiple set pieces over and over and over again.)
All servers are 4 to 1 in Empire's favor.
HORRIBLE UI (seriously bad, fire the UI team)
Buggy, (especially once you hit end game dungeons. One night me and some friends had to spend 15 minutes sjust trying to figure out how to even enter a hard mode dungeon, We must have had to drop group 5 times to finally get the instance to let us in)
Tons and I repeat tons of CC in pvp. MDPS have fun with that.
Servers that say standard are actually totally empty if you're a Republic player.
Silent management style of customer service. Good luck ever talking to a human being.
I could go on and on.
Quoting myself because I just thought of more reasons.
you can't choose which Warfront you do. (literally you have no option to choose 1 out of the 3)
There is no scoreboard in pvp games until the very end of the match. There is literally nothing built into the pvp map to let you see the score as the game progresses.
Every time you que with friends....it kicks you out of your party after the warfront is over so you get to reform your party every single que.
The gear is horrible looking endgame. Jedi knights looks like robo cop and assasin's end up looking like ninja's? Last I looked Japanese ninja's were'nt in the star war's canon but maybe im wrong.

You have to be very unlucky and always run into some serious skilled pvp players if you get facerolled if you are not 40 well or you just lack skills and are too busy whining about not beeing 40+ all the time and forget to fight bk i dunno all i do know is that i dont have probs holding my own in pvp against higher lvls it was very bad with the 50s in full pvp gear but now the 40s are not that big of a deal anymore.
I do agree with you on the quests tho HOWEVER the choices can alter your personal story tho i believe one job will loose (kill) 1 companion if you picked the right (wrong) choices another job could turn a Jedy to the dark side depending on your choices you will open up Companion quests if you treat them well enough and raise the affection so there certainly is more change to the story in thgis game than in any other MMO to date.....
SWTOR is to MMORPGs what SPORE was to strategy games. A terrible game with a gimmick that manages to miraculously score 85% everywhere even though the vast majority of players find its shallowness and lack of actual content disgusting.

Coyote, I am truly taken aback when you say the reason the endgame sucks is due to this and not due to the lack of... content. Yikes.
