Your subscription choice?

So, in a bold and unprecedented move, enmasse has created special pricing on multi-month subscriptions for people who sign up before launch. Just curious as to what people choose.

1 month: $14.99

3 month: $35.85 or $11.95/mo.

6 month: $59.70 or $9.95/mo.

12 month: $107.40 or $8.95/mo.

I will probably choose the 3 month option myself, unless I really hate the previ... I mean... beta.

Knowing that I'll probably be playing over a year that special looks pretty damn nice... But I'm not sure I wanna shell out a lump sum :P Saves about $75 though.

It's not unprecedented however. Rift also offered special pricing lock in if you were subscribed by a certain date. Though I think it was a bit after release date.

this is the euro price details for subs

    http://tera-europe.com/newsdetail/article/information-on-retail-digital-versions-pre-order-available.html

not sure but it sounds quite dear for us in the EU..not quite sure how much the euro is agaist the british pound though.

I always pay the few dollars more for one month at a time, when I'm new to a game.  On principle alone.  Not going to get suckered into paying for a game that turns out to have no endgame or longevity.  If it keeps me entertained for more than a month, I'll reconsider.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

is it me or is it EU prices that are vey high compared with US..118 euros for 12 month..anyone that can do the math, but it does'nt seem to work out that you get any discount at all for 12 month.http://tera-europe.com/newsdetail/article/information-on-retail-digital-versions-pre-order-available.html...i,m kind of interesyed in the game but not going to pay thru the roof if you know what i mean.

    1 month: $14.99

    3 month: $35.85 or $11.95/mo.

    6 month: $59.70 or $9.95/mo.

    12 month: $107.40 or $8.95/mo.

EU always get the short end when it comes to sub prices it seems =(

IMO it should be even across the board. If its $100 in NA then it should be the equivelent in EU / UK, ect.

Maybe it has something to do with the VAT tax? I dunno. But I always see EU complaining about higher prices for subs compared to everyone else, I honestly would be a bit miffed myself.

i may consider the 12 Month sub just because of the discount. I usually pay month to month, but $8.95 a month for entertainment is dirt cheap. Even if I only played a few days a month thats still a good deal to me.

    Will decide after this weekend.

If I enjoy the game during the first month and feel it will last, i'll easily go for the 12 month option. That is dirt cheap and saves me $70.

    Eve is worst for this:

    $14.95 or 14.95 Euro

Thats £9.44 for US and £12.40 for Europeans...plus VAT and France tax probably :/.

Hence i used to buy timecards in dollars.

There is no reason to buy a 12 month sub if the difference is just 1$.

6 months for me.... not interested in TSW or GW2, and ArcheAge... yeah we will probably have to wait 1+ year for it.

Looking forward to participate in politics, guild vs guild pvp and more open world features.

Finally, an MMO that isn't just another mediocre wow clone with less things to do.

I remember seeing that too, believe it was "Founders Pricing"

I'm used to the usual ripoff of converting 1€ to 1$. But on Tera they demand even more € than they demand $ from americans.

    12 month subscription = 9.99€ = 13.15$ monthly for Europeans.

That means for 12 months we will pay 157.76$ instead of 107.40$ - 50% more.

And before this turns into a "don't complain about conversions"  flame.

What I'm saying is that they demand 8.95$ from the USA but 9.99€ from the EU. The conversion just makes it even worse.

I am not so sure I will even get the game, I can tell you more about that on monday.

If I after played a few beta events still like it I will probably get 3 months for starters, if I enjoy that I might go 6 months.

But chanses are that I will get into GW2 instead, we will see. If GW2 have a launch date when TERA launches I will get enough time to play until GW2s launch, play some GW2 and decide after that.

But first the game will have to show me how good it is.

Yeah I have never really gotten the "why" either.

Are they having to pay VAT tax on that? Not exactly sure how the VAT tax works for you guys or companies doing business over there.

Seems like they would take into account the conversion rates. I know they fluctuate some, but seems like they could get close to the same price per $ / Euro / Pound or whatever currency is being converted.

I'm just going to play on the American servers. Screw paying extra.

In the Tos it says that if we chose a monthly subscription and chose to cancel it, we have to email them atleast 10 days prior to the next billing for it to take effect, or they are allowed to draw the funds from the credit card. Is that normal?

Im pretty sure I read that right. It is on the tos that pops up when you register an account with frogster. It seems awfully convoluted a way to cancel a sub.

      I"m pretty sure he's being condescending :D

I'm unsure if I'll subscribe.  Most likely going to pre-order and will see after that.

I went with the one month option, as I always do. I've yet to play a P2P MMO past the initial free month. Hopefully TERA will change that trend.

I'm confused isn't Tera being released by Frogster for the euros and en masse for americans?

Interesting. Going to have to keep an eye on that little bit. Wouldn't be the first time a company snuck a little extra into a TOS. On the other hand, given the propensity for people to do their cancelations at the last minute, if Frogster actually enforced/exploited such a condition, there would be a serious storm of kak. Not the kind of publicity that a fledgling MMO would want.

That the means of progression would not be mutually exclusive from the means of enjoyment.
