Blizzard has announced that the Battle.Net Balance is now live. With the new service, players can purchase digital products through the upcoming Diablo 3 auction house as well as purchase digital downloads of all Blizzard's games and game time cards for World of Warcraft.
In the near future, players will be also able to use Battle.net Balance for the digital World of Warcraft Battle Chest and WoW digital upgrades. In addition, with the upcoming launch of Diablo III, players will have the option to use Battle.net Balance to buy and sell items in the game’s currency-based auction house.

Time for some Diablo 3 !
Grim Dawn, the next great action rpg!

I find their choice of names for this rather interesting. Taking your cut off RMT'ers and calling the service 'balance' very nicely sums up Blizzards goals.

For a moment i had hope, that they cut it completely after removing it from the Korean version..

And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore
last i heard its still planned.
How long will my Battle.net Balance remain in my account? Will it ever expire?
Depending on local laws and regulations, we may be required to remove the Battle.net Balance from any Battle.net account. There are region-specific expiration dates for balance.
so whats the point on them making BNB? it look to me that its just a alternative to rmt.
1. Put €50 up there
2. Buy something for €30
3. Blizzard removes €20 because of whatever
4. ???
5. Profit! (for Blizzard)
I wouldn't even wonder if they manage to keep the rest, instead of retuning it (or the simply remove it, bad enough), after what i heard about companies like PayPal, who essentially did something like this, keeping money they (according to their own statement) never were allowed to accept.

For Diablo 3 to launch or for Wow to become a F2P game with an extensive itemshop?
I wonder if this impact Titan as well and if they plan to use real money AH in it as well?

Uh, wouldnt a digital time card just be, you know, a sub? Or am I just reading that wrong?
Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"
Sig typo fixed thanks to an observant stragen001.
Absolutly but wow will stay p2p with an extensive item shop and diablo 3 had to get the most important thing up and running before anything else....
The real money AH.
And the INternet Shall Tremble
Loke my experience says that this is going to become the new Blizzard's bussiness model and then everyone will try to follow it misserably.
I dont know if it will work but i know that Blizzard does not know how to fail and if they see a simple sign of fail they shut it donw immediatly.
I remember when bnet first started, it was pretty exciting. This is not

Well if this is going to be the new norm in the future, I am out of MMO's for good!
In my eyes it's then no longer a game, but a legalized RMT business I do not want to take part of. As the games will be filled with farmers galore. Thanks, but no thanks!
nah, i was thinking the same m8
step one force my sisters 2 midgets to each play a copy of diablo to max lvl step two sell account for couple hundred bucks step three get paid for taking care of the midgets step four rinse and repeat
reminder to self remeber to buy candy as a reward for lvling fast and getting good items
It's already live, did you even bother to read the thread?
blizzards gonna milk this cash cow till its tits fall off you can bet the farm on that.
*cough* Starcraft: Ghost *cough*
Obviously they will want to see how successful this model will become with D3. If it's a huge success, they will most likely implement it into their other games too, including Titan.
It's not rocket science.
Sweet, I wondered if they'd ever get this ready for D3 after SC2 had to launched without the Marketplace.
Those who complain and cry about this will soon be in for a rude awaking, micro-transactions, DLC, RMT systems are the future of games not just MMO's.
At least blizzard didin't just dump in a basic RMT vendor, the auction house is player driven, if a player does't find an item and doesn't put it up on the AH then it will never be avaliable for purchase. You can also play without touching the AH or use the gold AH.... but that's just common sense and has no place on this forum.
Starcraft Ghost was never released so it can't have failed. It was also developed by another company Nihilistic Software not Blizzard. Thanks. Fanboy out.
