For those playing it or have played it, is it like Aion? I loved Aion, but had issues with it as well. Can you duo stuff if you re short on time? Just a general, how is it I guess. My wife and I are looking for a new game and wondering how this is.

Not sure when OB is out, but just wondering what people think and know.

welll, I just made a thread saying how I feel about it at this time... This post would have made a great addition to that.

The combat is far from Aion, I liked it much more, and luckily for you the design is very similar but the graphics seem a bit better.

    Just my opinion.

You get perks for being in party, so yes, definitely good for duo.

We got more exp, you gather faster while in party and I'm sure I'm missing more stuff but that's all I could gather so far. I read every dialogue that popped up but since the servers were going down soon I just stood around having fun.

TERA has got a few critical flaws regarding the MMORPG-aspect:

    - One starting area: All new players get launched into the same zone, this normally isn't much of a problem because the mobs respawn fairly quick, however, there was a story quest which required to kill a unique NPC. The credit for killing the NPC is only given to the person landing the first hit, and because you don't need a target in order to attack in TERA, everyone was just spamming ranged attacks, hoping to be the first one to hit the NPC.

    - Extremely clunky grouping mechanics: A few smart players came up with the idea to group, so that more could complete the quest at a faster pace, unfortunately nobody knew how to group because the 'LFG" button was hidden somewhere in one of the Options menus.

    Notes:

    - Female characters tend to look rather slutty. And men either look I-AM-ARNIE-I-AM-MANLY or they look feminine. That ofcourse, is part of the Asian artstyle. But it needs to be said that the character models are of superior quality, they make those in SW:TOR look even more hideous than that they already are.

    - Unoriginal quests: Most of them come down to kill ten rats. I didn't consider this that much of a problem because the combat is quite satisfying, although keep in mind that if you play the Archer class you might find the combat a bit unresponsive.

    - Lack of terrain shadows: While the shadows cast by characters truly were a relief after playing SW:TOR and Skyrim, the shadows cast by objects in the terrain are quite lackluster, if not non-existant.

That's just about everything I've got to say about TERA so far.

Alot, killing that guy isn't a big issue, it is when 200 people are in the same starting area, which won't be the case once the game comes out and there is more than 1 server lol.

Goddamn Vekas. When I got there people were standing there, swinging their weapons at empty air, in order to be able to hit Vekas as soon as he spawned.

The complaints people mention are valid, but minor in my opinion. So I think it will definitely be subjective. That said, I dueled a few people, and wow, so much more fun when the game comes down to skill. I was able to defeat a couple people two levels above me, and in general just had an absolute blast dueling. Can't wait for open-world PvP.

Also, I liked some of the ways they encourage the social aspect, such as campsites and shared buffs. The group thing wasn't an issue, just /invite :charname: I don't know why some people have such difficulty with age-old commands like that.

I played during the 2 hours and with my taste of games I think Im gonna love this one. I have played Lineage 2 for many years and I do feel some of its elements in this game aswell.

Still veeeery early to give a review but the experience felt stable. The "no-target" gameplay is very funs. But I can imagine casters/nukers will need some practice, hehe. I played a warrior and did a duel with a nuker (that rabbit looking class) and I think he hit me once and it felt less than a mosquito. I just jumped, used my evade skill (rolling on the ground) and run around him hitting with my duel-blades. It was over very fast and the nuker just "loled".

Im looking forward to the beta and the actuall release!

Lol I only did one duel and it was with a lancer, I was a warrior and it took me an eternity to kill him. I did win though, he seemed to not use his block too efficiently.

All it took was me saving up some mana then waiting to get behind him and unleashing hell. To be fair it was a close fight though.
