How was things a year ago?

I've been following upcoming and current MMO's on this site, and in the time I've been more actively following them and reading threads I'm starting to discern a number of samelike trends here.

Which made me kinda curious: how were things actually at Rift's launch and afterwards on these forums and Rift threads? How was the flow of the discussions and overall nature of the debates, everything peachy, or some highlights or noticeable trends that could be witnessed?
